Wakefield Books Newsletter for July 2013
Greetings from the staff at Wakefield Books
,
Hot days and sun are upon us. We hope everyone has a great summer and
gets a chance to do all those things they've been looking forward to doing.
We hope you include us as a part of your summer because not only do we have your kid's summer reading lists and books here, but we've got that perfect summer read your looking for, for your escape.

What We're Reading ........

Bad Monkey by Carl Hiaasen

Hiaasen weaves another South Florida crime novel that kicks off
with some tourists hauling in a severed arm on their charter fishing
trip. Then it really gets weird. With a crazy cast of characters only he
could think up. Bad Monkey is a satisfying, and fun
summer read.

The Ocean At The End Of The Lane by Neil Gaiman:
                                Seemingly simple tale about a friendless boy;
full of magic yet entirely believable and moving
You will find yourself re-reading this book
and asking "how does Gaiman do it?"
                                                       The spare sentences convey
completely new worlds.
 A master storyteller.
 Read it, you'll love it!
-Kim

Seating Arrangements by Maggie Shipstead
An easy read, at times funny and disturbing, about a
dysfunctional family and cast of characters
gathering for a wedding on an island
off the New England coast.

 -Sue

The Third Gate by Lincoln Child

A great thriller featuring murder, mayhem and ancient Egyptian
curses that takes place in the largest swamp in the world in the
middle of the Nile. Once you start it you may just finish it in one
     sitting!

-Lisa

Kill Room by Jeffrey Deaver.
Lincoln Rhyme, a forensic expert, is mentally &
physically challenged when asked to solve a
case with a sniper and a knife-wielding assassin.
Great forensics, a sick assassin, and Rhyme's
 unique sense of humor.

Jack must now relive that tragic week in order to help the detectives, but what Jack doesn't realize is that his medical expertise is just what the detectives need to turn him into a suspect and defendant.
