Cupcake Madness!

Friends of Hazard Castle is hosting Cupcake Madness on March 25th, from noon to 4pm at the Narragansett Pier Ballroom at the Village Inn. Come witness the exciting batter battle for the cupcake crown!

Wakefield Books will be hosting children's author Lisa Schroeder (It's Raining Cupcakes) for a book signing at the event. Lisa will also be a celebrity guest judge for the final head 2 head cupcake challenge between the top three bake shops in Rhode Island in a timed bake-off, just like on the Food Network's Cupcake Wars.

Admission is free and tickets are available for tasting. Come on over for a really sweet time!

April 3rd and 19th, 2012

Stephen Frater is an adjunct assistant professor at Rhode Island's Harrington School of Communication and Media. His exciting new book Hell Above Earth chronicles the true story of an American WWII bomber commander flying missions over Nazi Germany and the copilot ordered to kill him.

Frater will sign copies of his book at URI's Lippitt Hall on Tuesday, April 3rd, at 4pm. He will also be at the Maury Loontjens (formerly Narragansett) Memorial Library in Narragansett on Thursday, April 19th, at 7pm.

Author Helen Simonson, author of the best-selling novel Major Pettigrew's Last Stand, will sign copies of her book at the Kingston Free Library on Thursday, April 12th, at 7:30pm. Reservations are required; please call 783-8254 to reserve your place.

April 21st, 2012

Local history buffs will enjoy Frank Heppner's excellent survey of the railroads of Rhode Island. Heppner will be in our store to sign copies of his book, Railroads of Rhode Island: Shaping the Ocean State's Railways, on Saturday, April 21st from noon to 2pm.
