Thank YOU!
It's thanksgiving weekend and I'm sitting in front of the fire with my two doggies snuggled up on the couch feeling mighty thankful.

This year, my teacher and I decided to dance all four styles (Rhythm, Smooth, Latin, and Standard) at Ohio Star Ball in order for him to get a chance at the coveted Top Teach prize. He won and we (all his students) couldn't have been more proud. It was a true team effort.

We were also blessed to make all championship finals, but most importantly, this year (compared to many other years at OSB), I had unbridled FUN! See the dancing tip in the side bar for tips on how to ENSURE that you meet your goals while competing.

Thank you to all who cheered us on all week. It was magical and I'm forever blessed to have shared this experience with you.

After two years of offering this newsletter every other month, we have decided to send it out quarterly starting in January. This way you're inboxes won't be filled and we can focus our information to give you powerful tips and tools in a concise format.

As always, please feel free to contact us at Next Level Dancing and/or me personally. I'd love to hear from you.

In the News:
  • This year, we sponsored the fabulous college dancesport team from New Mexico State University. For their final team match, they wore gowns from Next Level Dancing and looked stunning.  I was fortunate to be at the team match with them at Ohio Star Ball screaming and cheering them on. If you haven't had a chance to watch this amazing event, I encourage you to do so next year. It's an amazing experience seeing hundreds of young men and women dance with passion, joy, and skill.

Next Level Dancing Tip:

Dance and Life Resource:
Setting Powerful Intentions
By Jessika Ferm

Performing and competing in ballroom dancing can be an emotional roller coaster. But, it doesn't have to be. Contrary to how we may feel, we are in complete control of our emotions and experiences.

This year in preparation for Ohio Star Ball, I created a list of intentions to make sure I didn't fall into the emotional traps of disappointment, confusion, and ungratefulness.

I took out a piece of paper and wrote down what success at OSB would look like, making sure that all the intentions were completely within my control. Some of mine included, "Beam gratitude in any final line up I make," "Dance from my heart in every heat," and "Only spend time with people who feed me and are positive."

After an exhausting week of dancing non-stop, I took out my list (which had a total of ten intentions on it) and was able to check off 9! Now, that's success.

Ballroom dancing and competing involve so many external factors over which we have no control (judges opinions, music choices, panels, other competitors, etc.).

Don't let these external factors impact your feelings of success. Set powerful intentions and hold yourself accountable to them. You will experience a level of joy and fun that rarely come when we compare ourselves to others or to scores.

What Our Clients Say About Our Dress Rental Company:

"Next Level dancing gives you the opportunity to take your dancing to the next level on the competition dance floor. Having a stylish dress that I felt fabulous in gave me the added confidence and poise I needed  to make my experience complete. I went from being an inexperienced dancer to a confident dancer that the judges immediately responded to. I am so thankful that Next Level Dancing exists and for the knowledgeable friendly staff that helped me every step of the way."
