Make the Holidays Green!

There are many easy ways to make the holidays environmentally friendly by using a little creativity and imagination this year! Read on for fun and easy ideas...

*Friendly Lights*

Many companies are selling LED versions of Christmas lights that not only look great, but also use a fraction of the energy that traditional lights do!

*Gift Wrap Ideas*

A great way to save on waste this season is to reuse paper grocery bags and magazines as wrapping paper and use stickers, stamps or a marker to decorate the paper. Anything from shoe laces to old cassette tapes can be used for ribbon!

*Gift Bags*

Modify nice paper bags with glued tissue paper or festive images over store names and you will have a unique, one-of-a-kind bag to place a present in!

*Earthy Decorations*

Make fun and easy decorations out of pine cones by wrapping ribbons or metal ties to them. Hang them on the tree, in the house, or tie pine cones to presents as accents.

*Get Creative!*

Using untraditional methods of wrapping and packaging gifts not only will help to reduce waste, it will make for a thoughtful and unforgettable celebration.

TechFarmer's 2012 Gadget Gift Guide

Go Pro 3 - $199-$399.00

The latest from Go-Pro, the Hero 3. Available in 1080p, High Definition capable, and shock and water proof, this camera can take anything you throw at it. Go-Pro's come with a wide range of mounting  options including everything from surfboard mounts to helmet mounts. Simply put, the Go-Pro 3 can document and withstand even the most extreme of sports.

Brurton Summit - Price $154.00

Brunton Outdoor makes a wide range of mountaineering equipment and accessories. At TechFarmer, we love new gear that can  enhance our outdoor adventures. The Brunton Summit is a great tool to take on expeditions, or just camping. It is water proof and its functions range from wind speed, to altitude alarms, to weather predictions. It can be easily mounted or attached to a variety of gear items.

North Face E-tip Gloves - $45.00

Most of our smart phones and tablets use capacitive touch screens. This means that they only work when something conductive touches them like a finger. This can be frustrating when the weather turns cold and we have to pull our gloves off to take calls. The North Face E-tip Gloves are made with conductive material located on the thumb and index finger, allowing you to operate the touch screen device without sacrificing the warmth of your hands.

Discovery Kids Electronic Lab - $29.95

The Discovery Channel's kids store has various fun and educational games and projects for all ages. One of our favorites is the Electronic Gadget Lab.

Yaktrax Walkers - $19.99

Snow chains for your shoes! These slip on traction devices are perfect for anyone commuting over icy roads on foot, or just looking for some extra traction during winter activities. These are an inexpensive way to add extra safety to your winter strolls.

Microsoft Surface RT - $499.00

Microsoft revolutionized the tablet market this year with their October release of the Surface RT. The Microsoft Surface tablet runs Windows RT as its Operating System. It comes pre-loaded with Office 2013 giving it a major productivity edge. Internet Explorer 10 allows Surface RT users to surf the Web securely at lighting fast speeds. The Surface can be used as a hand held tablet, or in conjunction with its accessory keyboard for a more traditional laptop experience.

Stocking Stuffer Ideas

Text Gloves - $4.99

Less expensive than the E-tip gloves, these touch screen glove liners make for perfect stocking stuffers and come in a variety of  colors and designs.
