Florida's One of the Most Entrepreneurial Friendly States in the U.S.

According to the Kauffman Index of Entrepreneurial Activity, Florida ranks as the tenth best state for entrepreneurs.  This is based on a start-up rate of 380 businesses per 100,000 adults. There are several reasons why Florida is highly ranked, including the following:

  1. Florida's business-friendly environment has become a magnet for technology start-ups and other small businesses.
  2. As the U.S. phases out its national space shuttle program, Florida's quick thinking has kept the space coast alive by inviting private companies to utilize existing infrastructure and skilled talent that goes beyond the space coast.
  3. Small businesses now make up 75% of the state's gross domestic product. One of every five domestic exporters is based in Florida.
  4. To boost its competitiveness, Florida has reduced regulations and business taxes and there is no personal income tax. In the near future, Florida will have an online portal where entrepreneurs can access all the information they need to start a business.
