Suncoast Workforce satellite office at SCTI |
Suncoast Workforce and the Sarasota County School Board have partnered to open a Suncoast Workforce Career Center satellite office at Sarasota County Technical Institute (SCTI), 4748 Beneva Road in Sarasota. A grand opening is scheduled for Thursday, March 7 at 11 a.m. The event will feature a celebration and ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Services offered at the new location will include cover letter and resume writing assistance, skills assessment, computer tutorials, employment opportunities, and one-on-one assistance from certified workforce-development professionals. The hours of operation for the new office are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
This opportunity has expanded our partnership with the School Board and SCTI and it is a significant endeavor for leveraging workforce services to match students with employment opportunities that are streamlined and efficient.

Personal Interview Coach (PIC) is an exclusive employment survey tool offered by Suncoast Workforce to its career-seeking customers. In August 2011, Suncoast Workforce added the PIC as a two hour workshop for career-seekers to better articulate their skills and attributes to businesses and the ability to communicate more effectively during the interview process. The completed employment survey results in a customized report based on how the candidate responds to questions. The report includes:
- Overview of your four dominant personality dimensions
- Insight into how an individual's personal style may impact work and communication
- Factors to consider when interviewing for a position, based on an individual's personal style
- Customized practice questions that guide the interview preparation process
- A helpful list of common interview tips
In the words of one PIC workshop attendee who wished she had this information prior an interview she had the day before, "I would have asked her (the interviewer) more questions about the types of goals that were expected of the position and I would have been more direct and achievement-oriented in my responses to her questions." |
