Dear fellow traveling families,
Now is the time to take a trip with Quivertree to Asia!

Asia is an incredible destination for families. The sights, sounds, smells and tastes make it a fabulous destination for all ages. There is really something for everyone in Asia including adventure, history, ruins, teeming atmospheric cities and of course the food! And because culturally Asia is so different to the West, a trip there makes for the most eye opening experiential travel. Our Asian trips are very popular and in recent weeks, Quivertree families have been traveling in India, China, Vietnam, Cambodia and Myanmar. In addition, Gideon's family has recently returned from a month long sojourn in India and his report appears below.

Gideon's India trip report

I love India. It's in my top three of all time favourite destinations. I took the family to South India some years ago (which you can read all about in my blog), and this Spring Break I took them to North and Central India.

In India I vastly prefer going to smaller towns and villages, rather than the big cities. The big cities are unavoidable sometimes, but the "real India" is the country outside of the sprawling megalopolises, where some things still seem unchanged after thousands of years...

India - incredible for the whole family!

Every day was special, but three things stand out:

Our Village to Village walk in the Himalayas.

This was a totally family friendly experience, with incredible guides who instantly bonded with the kids. Our days were spent walking through remote villages and seeing daily life unfold, while at night we slept in village houses that have been outfitted to a 5* level. Hot water bottles in bed, cooking lessons, games with the kids and of course the wonderful Himalayas!

Our stay at Ahilya Fort, a 300 year old castle in the small tourist-free town of Maheshwar.

Owned by the current Prince, our kids were looked after by the same nanny who looked after the Prince's own kids! With food to die for and service that could not be beaten, we loved the totally hassle-free and serene location, the boat rides on the river, witnessing the local religious rituals and visiting the  local school.

India Palace
You too can stay in a place like this!
The two tigers we saw while on safari. India offers a fantastic safari experience, and while never guaranteed, the highlight of any safari has to be a sighting of the endangered Royal Bengal Tiger. Our favourite guide was Jai, the son of the managers of the lodge we stayed at, and who at age 8 is a real expert!

We can't wait to go back!
