The summer has wrapped up and now South Lake Tahoe can get back to a nice, casual pace.  I've been so busy this summer with people calling, emailing and walking in the door every day to look for a home to purchase or sell, in our mountain paradise. That's what's been great about having Paradise Real Estate located at the shops at  Heavenly Village...right in the middle of all the action!

The number of new listings of homes for sale in South Lake Tahoe rose 14% from a year ago. August 2013 saw the first upturn of inventory of homes after a 5 1/2 year drop! In 2012 and 2013, Lake Tahoe visitors rushed into town to purchase a home since many believed that it would be the only time they could afford a home in a resort community like Tahoe. 

The attractive prices are still below our peak of 2006, interest rates are low and a pent up desire to own a piece of paradise in Lake Tahoe means closed sales continued to rise. Recently, I'm starting to see an increase in interest with clients being more selective, taking advantage of this ideal buying opportunity with more homes to choose from.

This Saturday and Sunday, October 4-5th is the Kokanee Salmon Festival at Taylor Creek.

Also this weekend is Octoberfest held at Camp Richardson resort.
 

Every Friday from 5-8pm is the Cool Car, Truck, and Motorcycle Cruise at the Heavenly Village

 The Fall Food Festival will be October 11th, held at Harvey's.

Fun for the kids! The Pony and Pumpkin Festival will be October 11th at Forest Suites Resort.

 The 36th annual Freaker's Ball, Lake Tahoe's largest and oldest Halloween party, will be Saturday, Oct. 25. at Montbleu Resort.
