Lights on the Lake Fireworks
July 4th, South Lake Tahoe, 9:45 p.m.
South Lake Tahoe's Lights on the Lake Fireworks show is one of the country's most spectacular Fourth of July celebrations. According to the American Pyrotechnics Association, the fireworks display is within the top 5 in the nation!
Some of the best spots to view the show:
- The Tahoe Queen and M.S. Dixie II: View the light show from the water!
- Nevada Beach: Located east of the Nevada casinos on Elk Point Road, Nevada Beach is wide and sandy and offers great vantage points to watch the show.
- Timber Cove Marina: Offering front row seating that fills up fast
- Bijou Community Park: Set back from the lake but offers a playground, dog and skate parks with firework views.
- The Tallac Historic Site: off Emerald Bay Road
- Edgewood-Tahoe: There is a beach and clubhouse that offers front and center views of the show.
- Lakeview Commons/El Dorado Beach: Corner of Hwy 50 and Lakeview Ave.
- And for the most unique view, some people have booked helicopter flights!

25th Annual American Century Golf Championship in South Lake Tahoe
Some of the sports and entertainment world's greatest celebrities will be coming to South Lake Tahoe for the 25th Annual American Century Golf Championship, July 15-20th.
This event is so much fun, enjoyed by participants and spectators alike. The event is made for TV, will be broadcast by NBC Sports and features a $600,000 purse! It also raises funds for local and national charities.
Three of the 90 celebrities planning to partake are Mike Eruzione, Vinny Del Negro and Gino Auriemma. Read what they say about the event!
