Evidence-Based Practices in Child Welfare: Opportunities & Challenges for the Workforce  

  
On Wednesday, February 20, 2013, from 1-2:30 PM ET, the NCWWI invites you to join us for Evidence-based Practices in Child Welfare: Opportunities & Challenges for the Workforce, the second bonus session in What Works for the Workforce: Leadership Competencies in Action - the NCWWI's National Webinar Series on Leading Change to Strengthen the Child Welfare Workforce.  

 

This session will provide an in-depth overview of evidence-based practices (EBP) in child welfare. Presenters will explain the definition of EBP and the impact of EBP on workforce development. Participants will hear about implementing EBP in child welfare, including the stages of organizational readiness, approaches to implementation, and factors that influence successful uptake of new interventions. Presenters will share information about the resources available through the California Evidence-based Clearinghouse for Child Welfare, and a range of examples from jurisdictions that have effectively implemented EBP, discussing current trends, challenges and controversies, as well as lessons learned and tips for success.

  • Jennifer A. Rolls Reutz, MPH, Research Coordinator at the Child & Adolescent Services Research Center (CASRC) and California Evidence-Based Clearinghouse (CEBC) at the Rady Children's Hospital in San Diego, CA.
