 Student Enrollment Update

At the November 13 School Board meeting, Business Manager Tim Belanger presented a student enrollment update.

Key observations:

  • The district is currently in a modest enrollment growth pattern, consistent with a PSU demographic study.
  • Kindergarten enrollment is the highest in seven years.
  • Due to a significant inventory of buildable lots within their respective boundaries, Kelso and Firwood Elementary Schools are most likely to see continued enrollment growth.
  • Welches is the only area experiencing a continued decline.
  • Home-school and out-of-district variances are slowly declining.
  • The effects of statewide open enrollment, allowed under Oregon House Bill 3681, were negligible on Oregon Trail School District.
  • Historically, 25% of Oregon Trail School District students are mobile - or not enrolled in their school for the entire year.

Congratulations Isaac!

Think PInk!

SHS students raised nearly $2,000 during their Think Pink campaign to support breast cancer patients. Proceeds went to Matt's Chemo Bags, an organization started by a Liberty High School student whose mom was diagnosed with breast cancer.
