Outstanding Service Award
|
The George B. Hartzog, Jr. Youth Group Award for Outstanding Volunteer Service was awarded to Troop 75
by the National Park Services for their volunteer work at Everglades National Park. Troop 75 removed 30 invasive Brazillian Pepper trees, improved the aesthetic landscape view and trail around Eco Pond, and enhanced the viewing of the museum collections. To top it off, Troop 75 supported the NPS mission of spreading the word about the wonders of national parks by creating a Facebook page. "To see young women working hard, working together, and working to help others, shows commitment and success," stated Kevin R. Bowles Mohr, Volunteer Coordinator for Everglades and Dry Tortugas National Parks.
