Leadership summit offers 2017 industry insight
Executive Leadership Summit is scheduled Oct. 25-26, 2016, at the Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa in Las Vegas, Nevada. With an exciting slate of speakers lined up for this year's educational program, the event will unveil expectations for 2017 and beyond. Advance registration through Oct. 7, 2016: $399 for NTEA members; $599 for nonmembers.

We are looking for presentations that demonstrate the advancement of alternative fuels and clean vehicle technology in relation to vocational trucks. Areas of interest would include case studies, sustainable technology or infrastructure development and new technologies or trends. Learn more.
Columbus awarded $50 million in Smart City grants
Columbus, Ohio will be the U.S. Department of Transportation's Smart City. The city beat out six other finalists for the competition to receive $50 million in grant funding from the federal government and Vulcan Inc. to develop Columbus into the nation's proving ground for intelligent transportation systems. EDI offers PowerDrive PHEV kit for OEMs
Efficient Drivetrains, Inc. (EDI) introduced OEM developer kits for manufacturers of plug-in hybrid trucks. The kit includes the EDI PowerDrive extensible drivetrain, vehicle control software, electric power export option and training with a developers' support program. Read more.
Gearing up for new engine oils
The heavy-duty engine oil specification that has been used for about 10 years will be replaced by: CK-4 and FA-4. They have been enhanced to withstand the rigors of lubricating hotter-running diesel engines and boost fuel efficiency better than the current offering, known as CJ-4 and marketed under many brands. Read more.
Cenergy proves bi-fuel Ford F-150 viable
In April of 2016, Ford Motor Company recommended Cenergy purchase a Ford F-150 gaseous prepped truck with a 5.0L engine and install Cenergy Solution's bi-fuel ANG conversion package and conformable tank to prove the technology. Read more.
EPA announces $1 million funding for tribes to clean up diesel engines
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) made $1 million in grant funding available for tribal applicants to establish clean diesel projects as part of the Diesel Emission Reduction program. Under this grant competition, applicants may request up to $800,000 in federal funding. Read more.

Mack Trucks has expanded its fleet management services with Mack Omnitracs Integrated Telematics, providing real-time GPS location information as well as performance data. Read more.
