NAFTC offers free propane autogas technician training 
The National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium (NAFTC) is offering a free, three-day training course designed to give automotive service technicians an in-depth look at servicing and maintaining propane-autogas-powered vehicles. Training is offered at these locations: 
  • April 25-27 at Oklahoma City Community College (Oklahoma City, Oklahoma)
  • May 24-26 at Blossman Autogas Fuel and Research Center (Asheville, North Carolina)
  • June 14-16 at Linn-Benton Community College (Albany, Oregon)

EPA certifies Landi Renzo's CNG F-650/F-750, stripped chassis
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has certified Landi Renzo to produce a dedicated compressed natural gas (CNG) version of Ford's 2016 model year F-650 and F-750, as well as Ford's F-53 and F-59 stripped chassis models. Read more.
EPA not backing off GHG rules for trailers, glider kits
The federal government may regulate truck trailers, as well as tractor glider kits, under the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions Standards and Fuel Efficiency Standards mandate. The Department of Transportation and EPA jointly issued a "Notice of Data Availability" on the proposed rule. Read more.
NHTSA wants more rules for electric vehicles
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is proposing to amend Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard  305, "Electric-powered vehicles: Electrolyte spillage and electrical shock protection,'' to adopt various electrical safety requirements in Global Technical Regulation No. 13, "Hydrogen and fuel cell vehicles." DOE to award $12M to improve medium- and heavy-duty truck efficiency
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) will award $12.5 million in grants and form a consortium to improve the operating efficiency of medium and heavy trucks. Read more.
