National Labs experts on hand to address alternative fuel topics
Representatives from the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) National Labs will be available at the Clean Cities - DOE booth #3605 during The Work Truck Show 2016 to help navigate alternative fuel options. FCA planning hybrid trucks, SUVs
FCA US plans to introduce a mild hybrid Ram 1500 and its next generation Jeep Wrangler with several alternative powertrains to meet increasing stringent tailpipe emissions standards and fuel economy regulations. Read more.
Motiv Power Systems, Creative Bus partner to build all-electric school bus
Motiv Power Systems and Creative Bus Inc announced they will partner on a new all-electric school bus. Called the Starcraft e-Quest XL, the zero-emission school bus will use the Motiv All-Electric Powertrain, a Ford F59 chassis and Starcraft body. Features of the e-Quest XL bus include passenger capacity of up to 48, a range of up to 85 miles, 50 percent charge within two hours, among others. Read more.
Stop-start standard for 2017 EcoBoost F-150s
Ford is adding auto stop-start as standard equipment on 2017 F-150 trucks powered by EcoBoost engines, the truck maker has announced. The move expands the fuel-saving feature to a second EcoBoost engine, including the high-output EcoBoost powering the F-150 Raptor. Ford's 3.5L V-6 will now get the feature. Ford paired auto stop-start with the 2.7L V-6 EcoBoost as standard equipment for the 2016 model year. Read more.
Biodiesel production rises to new record in 2015 
Citing data from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the National Biodiesel Board says U.S. consumers used a record of nearly 2.1 billion gallons of biodiesel in 2015, reducing the nation's carbon emissions by at least 18.2 million metric tons in the past year. Read more.
Omnitracs unveils all-in-one device for telematics, mobile apps 
Omnitracs has introduced the Intelligent Vehicle Gateway, a single, robust mobile device that it says will offer commercial fleets a unified platform for the efficient use of mobile apps and telematics. Read more
Lightweight and Advanced Technology Demo display at The Work Truck Show 2016 
On March 2-4, during The Work Truck Show 2016, the Green Truck Association and the Lightweight Materials Technology Council will present the Lightweight and Advanced Technology Demo display, showcasing fuel-saving components and technology for work trucks.
