BIG President Pens Letter to the Editor on Flood Insurance Hike

BIG President Jimmy Ledet recently submitted a letter to the editor of The Comet and The Courier calling on the federal government to delay implementation of the unaffordable flood insurance rate hikes now faced by area residents due to the Biggert-Waters Act.  Ledet also commended our local Congressional delegation and parish presidents for their efforts to resolve the insurance crisis.  Read letter here.

Bayou Industrial Group is pleased to welcome Thibodaux Mayor Tommy Eschete as guest speaker for our monthly luncheon on Monday, August 12, 2013.  Please join us as the Mayor gives us an update on progress in the city and plans for the months ahead.

The meeting begins at Noon at the Bayou Country Club in Thibodaux. We hope to see you and your guests there!

There is no charge for BIG members; $20 fee for reserved guests; $25 for walk-ins.  Since BIG is required to pay for total number of reservations, all reserved guests will be billed for payment regardless of attendance. 

BIG Says Goodbye to Dr. Hulbert with Honors and Many Thanks
A full house of Bayou Industrial Group members and guests paid tribute to Dr. Stephen Hulbert at our July 8 meeting as the retiring Nicholls State University President reflected on his past 10 years in Thibodaux. Over the past decade, his leadership at the helm of our university and within in our community has been tremendous. BIG was pleased to present Dr. Hulbert with our first-ever Honorary BIG Achiever Award for his accomplishments, as well as a painting of Laurel Valley Store by local artist Billy Ledet.

Thank you, Dr. Hulbert,for being a champion for NSU and our Bayou Region!
