News from The Views Restaurant and Lounge:
  • Happy Hour entertainment this weekend: Friday, June 23 - Michael P and the Gully Washers; Saturday, June 24 - Duo Vibrato.
  • We have another PaintNite planned for Sunday, June 25 at 4 PM. What is PaintNite? You create art over cocktails while guided by a professional artist and party host. Grab your friends and spend two hours drinking, laughing, and flexing your creative muscles. There's no experience necessary and they provide all the supplies, so you don't have to worry about a thing (except having a great time!). To learn more or register for this event, click here.
    • Upcoming PaintNite: Sunday, July 30, register here (also, possibly August 27, depending upon Restaurant kitchen renovation schedule).
Stay up to date with us by joining our email list, visiting our website or on Facebook.

A reminder that the cost of an ARC submittal will be $25 beginning July 1, 2017. Per Board Policy FIN-009 Funds received through ARC Fees shall be placed in the Contingency Fund. The Contingency Fund is used to cover unforeseen/emergency community expenses, shortfalls in yearly budgets and/or unexpected capital requirements

Remember that all guests must sign in when using the Pool and Fitness Center.

Please encourage your guests and visitors to park in the streets and not on the sidewalks (four tires on the black asphalt or gutter).

Please remember, smoking is allowed only in designated areas and there is no smoking allowed at either pool. This includes "e-cigarettes."

Interesting Tidbit: Arizona revised statutes prohibits parking an unattended vehicle on the street for more than 48 hours. Code also prohibits occupancy of a vehicle on the street overnight. All RV's shall be registered with SCOV by the member owner at the Association business office. In any calendar month RV parking is limited to a total of 72 hours, cumulative, and only for purposes of cleaning, loading or unloading and short term parking (in designated areas).

Did you know? Regarding lot set backs, hedges vs. driveway shrubs: a general rule of thumb is that your front property line is approximately 4 ft. behind (toward your house) the sidewalk. The 20 ft. setback is usually the front of your garage to your property line. Per the Master Declaration nothing taller than 42 inches is allowed in the 20 ft. setback. That applies to walls and hedges. So if you have a hedge along your driveway, the entire hedge in the 20 ft. setback must be trimmed to 42 inches, not just a portion to allow safe passage from the driveway. Individual shrubs only need to be trimmed to 42 inches to allow safe exit from your driveway. The definition of a hedge is a series of plants that grow close together, not necessarily all the same plant. If that is confusing, talk to an ARC member.

Getting to know the GM: I've been in this industry nearly two decades. I've worked with many different Boards. I don't believe I've ever worked at a place where a Board of Directors has worked harder for the benefit of the people than right here at SCOV. One of the reasons I love working here, and I think most of our staff love working here, is we all perceive that our Board and our community care about us as staff. It makes us want to serve you all the more. A very sincere thank you to all of you.
