The AFC air conditioner has been on the fritz. The A/C unit at the AFC has struggled for the past two weeks. The service company has not provided good service and so our Facilities Manager decided to make a change. A new company was called in and diagnosed the problem. The part for the repair was located locally and we anticipate that it will be repaired by end of day tomorrow (Friday). Thanks to so many who have had patience with us as we navigated through this repair.

Fire District Consolidation Proposal. The Fire Board of Golder Ranch Fire District will hold a public hearing on Monday, July 17 at 9 AM, 3885 E. Golder Ranch Dr., to consider consolidating with the Mountain Vista Fire District. The public is welcome to attend.

Interesting tidbit: According to the definition in the Development Standards, A Shrub, Section 1.37 is a woody perennial plant with several stems, generally smaller than a tree.

A Tree, Section 1.43 is a woody perennial plant, generally having an elongated main stem, and few branches on its lower part.

Trimming growth from the lower part of a shrub does not make it a tree.

Did you know: Of the $105 increase in the Association fees for this next year, $70 was the result of the state mandated minimum wage increase. The remaining $35 was to cover increased costs of running the association for items such as water and utilities. This amounts to a 1.96% increase after the state mandated minimum wage increase.

Getting to know the GM: I have visited with many of you, received e-mails from many more and I appreciate your support of TWISCOV and this part of it.

My first year in Arizona I walked around with a terry cloth hand towel so I could wipe the sweat off my brow when out and about. I've been here for a while now and I can golf at 105 degrees pretty comfortably as long as I have plenty of water to drink. I even like this kind of heat and get cold when at higher altitudes in colder weather like ummm 70 degrees. I'd remind all of you that even though you may be climatized to this nice warm weather, you still need to drink a lot when out playing golf or partaking of our other beautiful and fun amenities. Hope to see you out enjoying the summer in a safe way.
