Telephone Directory: We are getting closer to deadlines for printing our SCOV telephone book. Would all of you please look at your listings on our website and be sure that they are accurate. I would like to avoid errors after the fact. It's true that the book doesn't come out until October, but my deadline is August 1, and there is a tendency to overlook the book as summer fun approaches. Yes, I know about some of you not including information in the printed book, but it is OK online. Also remember, that your email addresses do not go into the printed book. Talk to your friends and neighbors about checking information. And if anyone notices any errors, please let me know. I can try to do something about the business pages, but I have no control over those final pieces. Thank you. Carolyn Lerch 520-818-3319 gclerch@comcast.net.
The purpose of the Future Housing Survey is to get YOUR opinion. This is your opportunity to weigh in with your opinions. Any recommendations made to the Board will be commensurate with what is important to SCOV residents.
What do you want for SCOV in the near and longer-term future? We would like your opinion and comments by completing the survey online . Please complete the survey by Monday, May 1. Relatively soon, the Future Housing Committee will make recommendations to the SCOV Board by looking forward 10-plus years and to identify what might be important and relevant to current and future residents. The Future Housing Committee is chartered to "... recommend a set of standards to guide and to regulate, including, but not limited to, building additions and modifications, lot combinations, architectural changes, building demolitions and multi-generational housing accommodations." A paper version of this survey will be available at the Activity Center, Desert Oasis, Catalina Vista, The Views Restaurant and Fitness Center. If the paper version is completed, please return it to Lisa Orach in the SCOV Welcome Center.

Trash Containers and Collection. The Neighborhood Pride Committee has noticed, and has been receiving comments about trash containers. Please note the following reminder:
According to current SCOV Development Standards, Section 2.5, and the 1st Amended Master Declaration, Section 4.9, trash containers may be stored on the lot as to be not visible from neighboring property or street. If such trash container is not, or cannot, be stored so as to be not visible from neighboring property or street, then such container must be stored in the garage. In no event, shall such containers be maintained so as to be visible from neighboring property, except when made available for collection and then for the shortest time reasonably necessary to effect such collection.
Unless your particular trash company picks up very early on your street, it is suggested that containers not be placed outside the night before, due to the possibility of wildlife tipping over the can and causing a real mess to be cleaned up by the homeowner the following morning.
Time changes for walking the golf course. Due to the days getting longer (daylight) and the temperatures becoming hotter, the golf course is being used later in the day and staff feel for the safety of everyone involved we need to change the walking signs and times to allow for walkers on the course beginning at 6 PM. Please remember to yield to the golfers who will still be on the golf course. Remember this is a walk at your own risk course. Thank you. --The Views Golf Course Staff
Did you know: The restaurant comment cards show customer satisfaction with the servers at the restaurant at 4.56 stars out of 5 stars possible. Way to go, staff!
Interesting tidbit: The restaurant has set sales records for the past three months and was in the black for the month of March.
Getting to know the GM: Working hard has been a way of life. As a youth of 12, I would move 4" pipe on the farm twice a day. I would move two lines by hand, each one going about ¼ mile. After moving pipe, I would go to football practice in the evening. In my life, working hard has been a blessing, although now the work is done mostly behind a desk and with the computer. It is truly a blessing to be able to work. Thank you SCOV, for the opportunity to work for you!
