New Guest Rule limits number of guests without prior approval:
The Association's amenities are intended for the use of SCOV Lot Owners who have not transferred their facility use privileges to renters or other occupants of their Lots and SCOV Residents. Specific exceptions to this intended use are allowed if the number of non-resident guests are limited or the exception is pre-approved as follows:
Exception to Member/Resident usage of association amenities by non-residents:
- The Golf and Restaurant are open to the public, therefore guest Rules do not apply
- Published public events in the Activity Center
- Guests of Owners or Residents of a Lot as long as the number is limited to no more than 4 at one time and the frequency does not exceed 12 times per year.
- Specific scheduled group activities that are pre-approved by the General Manager, Assistant Manager, Activities Director or other staff authorized by management noted. Examples that may be pre-approved are; tournaments, leagues, and member-guest events.
This Rule shall be interpreted to intentionally limit the number of non-residents using SCOV facilities. Cases that do not meet the intent of this Rule are not allowed. For example, residents collectively using exception #3 to jointly invite guests that will monopolize the use of a facility without first obtaining approval as noted above is not allowed.
Violations of this Rule are subject to a fine of up to $500 and loss of the Member's/Resident's facility use privileges of up to one year.
Hotdogs at the bar: Golfers at the turn or anyone who wants a quick bite, there's a hotdog machine at the restaurant bar where you can get quick service. Take advantage of this when you have little time to spend on ordering and want something on the fly. If demand doesn't warrant the hotdog machine, it may go away, so keep in mind this quick way of getting a bite to eat.
What is the only item that all our homes have in common, and is the most overlooked? Our mailboxes, yet we walk to them daily, except Sunday, take out all sorts of news, but tend to overlook their condition. Tomorrow, when you collect your mail, take five seconds to examine your mailbox, flag and pole. Boxes and poles must be black, not oxidized gray or chipped and peeling. Flags are most commonly red, not faded to pink red and splotchy. The pole your mailboxes are mounted on should be standing "straight," not leaning to one side or backwards. Neighborhood Pride findings in one section for the month of November showed out of 117 total infractions, 53 related to mailboxes, flags and poles. Does yours need a little attention?
Vistoso Cyclist/SCOV Food Drive: Thank you for your generous and compassionate support. Together, we have exceeded our goal by raising $30,753 for the Food Bank at Interfaith Community Services. Many families, individuals and seniors will benefit as a result.
The Modelers Club will have an Open House for Thanksgiving. The dates are Friday, November 25 and Saturday, November 26, 10 AM-Noon, and 1-3 PM. We will be running trains on our expanded HO railroad layout. We have added more lighted buildings and track. Last year was very successful and we look forward to another big turnout of visitors.
Tour de Tucson: It's that time again. Tour de Tucson will be held Saturday, November 19. If you don't need to be on the road, you are advised to stay home until about 1 PM. Also, please note that Innovation Drive will be closed a good part of the day. Therefore, if you have to get to the Oro Valley Hospital, you'll have to take a route other than Innovation.
