You're Invited! The Board of Directors wants to invite you to each and every Study Session and Board Meeting. Your thoughts and input are important and one of the best ways to be heard is by attending these monthly meetings. In addition, to this invitation the Board would like you to stop by the meetings 15 minutes before the meetings begin so you and the Board Members can have an opportunity for a casual conversation. This pre-meeting period will give you an opportunity to have one-on-one time with Board Members so you can either talk about light social issues or an Association related issue that may be very important to you. The next combined Board Meeting and Study Session will be held on Tuesday, September 27 at 9 AM in the Welcome Center, Conference Room 3. Please stop by a little early.

Electric power shut down: On Wednesday, September 28, the power will be shut down most of or all of the day in the Artisan Center and Activity Center. This power outage is necessary in order for the solar company to connect the solar equipment to TEP power sources. We apologize for any inconvenience that may cause you.

Projects update:
  • Restaurant: As I have noted in the past, the exterior concrete around the restaurant will be surfaced starting next Monday. This project will take two weeks to complete. The first week the concrete around the lounge will be done allowing access through the front and back doors of the restaurant. The second week, the concrete around the restaurant area will be done allowing access through the lounge.
  • Solar: As noted above, there will be a power shut down in the Activity Center and Artisan Center on February 28. This task will be one of the last related to the solar project as the solar company plans to complete the project in early October.
  • Painting: Painting of the buildings continue. Next on the list is the AFC, Artisan Center and Activity Center.
  • Catalina Vista: Several replacements of items such as flooring and changes to the AV system are taking place at this time. This project should be complete next week.
Catalina Vista access: Just a reminder that when entering the Catalina Vista you must use the front door to swipe your card/fob for entry. The second door by the ice machine has been locked and alarmed. You can escape through that door in an emergency, but not enter the building. Please remember that once you are in the building you should not open the door to allow others to enter. Thank you

Do you rent your home or are you planning to rent your home? Please ensure you follow the proper procedures if you wish for your tenants to have facility access cards. Please contact the Administration Center at 917-8065 with any questions. Thank you.
  • Your Facility Access Cards (Membership cards) are non-transferable and may only be used by you. You may not give your renters your cards.
  • Before any Cards are issued to renters, we MUST have your Facility Access Cards on file in the office AND your HOA dues must be up to date.
  • A Renter Form must be completed by you and returned by your renter(s) when they come in to receive their cards. Log in to the website, Click hereto obtain the form.
  • There is a $25 renter registration fee.
Please be advised the front office will not keep on file any future rental agreements. It is the responsibility of the renter to submit all paperwork upon arrival to SCOV.

Donations Needed
: The SCOV Women's Auxiliary is collecting gently used women's accessories (purses, scarves, jewelry, belts, hats, shoes and designer/decorated jackets) for a Fall Luncheon and Accessories Boutique to be held on Nov. 5. DONATION DROP-OFF BOXES will be at the Desert Oasis and the Aquatic Fitness Center from Sept. 21-Oct. 31. Jan Almer is coordinating the donations so contact her at 520-818-2504 or at hopkealmer@yahoo.com with questions.

Please no glass in the pool areas: We would like to remind you that no glass bottles or dishes are allowed around the pools and in the locker rooms. Glass breaking in any of these area is a real danger and could result in having to close and drain a pool or injury to someone.

SCAM ALERT: A resident has reported receiving a call from their grandson asking for money.  It was a scam. This scam has been around for a long time and if you receive such a call, please contact the Oro Valley Police Department.

Check your vents: A resident here in SCOV would like to advise other residents of an issue he has encountered. An owl has made himself at home and has been seen with twigs going in and out of one of the circular vents that leads into the attic ...presumably making a nest. This vent is not covered by mesh. Other incidents of birds and animals have been known to make themselves at home via these circular vents. Check your attic vents to see if there is a mesh covering so the interior of your home is protected from wildlife.
