September 13 - SENATOR FLAKE'S ASSISTANT AT SCOV - Remember to meet with Melissa Martin, Senator Flake's assistant, Tuesday, September 13 at 10:30am in the Activity Center/Kachina Lounge if there are issues or questions for which you'd like help from your Senator in Washington. CATERING - As of August 23, SCOV will no longer offer catering services. Events with a signed contract will be fulfilled, but any events on the calendar without a contract have been cancelled. The purpose of this action is to focus on the expanded services in the restaurant, lounge & terrace. If you are unsure about the status of your event, please contact Chris Sapp at 917-8074.

RV Parking -
In any calendar month R/V parking will be limited to a total of 72 hours, cumulative, and only for purposes of cleaning, loading or unloading and short term parking. An R/V may be parked only in designated parking areas: Member driveway or street.
Exception: Parking within a Member's garage is permissible at all times. (Board Policy BOD-011.002) Note: Oro Valley Town Code Title RV Recreational Vehicle Parking Policy Number BOD-011 prohibits occupancy of a vehicle on the street overnight. State of Arizona Statute prohibits parking an unattended vehicle on the street for more than 48 hours.

MEMBERS ONLY WEBSITE SECTION Are you a registered member of the Sun City Oro Valley website yet? If not, please take a moment to register. This will allow you access to all the information under MEMBERS including board agenda and minutes, financial information, home owner information, the online community directory and the consumer referral vendor list, just to name a few. You may find step-by-step instructions here. Please note - You MUST be a Sun City Oro Valley resident to register.  
PROJECT UPDATES
  1. Solar - Behind the Welcome Center, the first array will be finished in a day or two as all that remains is some painting. The back array will be completed by the end of next week. At that point they will be done behind the Welcome Center with the exception of their material storage area. The last area is in the Activity Center and they are aiming to be completed there by the end of September, first of October.
  2. Catalina Vista - On September 6, the three meeting rooms closed for work. The updates will include
    new flooring, partitions, window coverings, a new AV system, additional lighting and updated kitchen appliances. Special recognition and thanks to the ILR for their generous grant towards this project.
  3. WiFi Upgrade - The wireless access will be upgraded in the Welcome Center and Activity Center the week of September 19. There will be intermittent outages of WiFi. Please pardon the inconvenience as this improvement is put into place.
CATALINA VISTA - Entrance to this building will now be through the front double doors. The access panel will be disabled on September 9. This step is being taken to create a more secure environment for our residents.

The Views Restaurant

This & That
DISPOSE-A-MED - The Sun City Vistoso Community Foundation will assist with Dispose-A-Med provided by the Oro Valley Police Department on Tuesday, September 13th from 9-11 AM at the Activity Center. Unused or expired prescriptions and over the counter medications in pill or liquid form are accepted as well as veterinarian medications. Please keep all medications in their original containers. Medications are dropped off anonymously into bins provided by the Police Department. Batteries, household, hazardous waste, metal or glass inhalation aerosol containers, syringes or epi-pens are not accepted. The next Dispose-A Med will be November 8th.

ARIZONA CORPORATION COMMISSION CANDIDATES - Saturday, September 10, at 1:00 in the Activity Center/Navajo, the Democrat Club will host Tom Chabin and Bill Mundell, candidates for seats on the Arizona Corporation Commission. The Corporation Commission is responsible for final decisions on granting or denying utility rate adjustments, enforcing transportation safety and public service requirements, and approving securities matters, including the registration of corporations doing business in Arizona. All are welcome to attend regardless of party affiliation.
