Projects Update:
  • Restaurant:
As I have noted in at least a couple of weekly reports, the plan was to close the restaurant section and open the lounge this coming Monday, June 27th. Unfortunately a few deliveries and jobs were not completed on time. As a result, the restaurant and lounge areas will both be closed at least Monday, June 27th through Friday, July 1st. If all goes as planned, the lounge will open Saturday, July 2nd. This opening will be with a temporary certificate of occupancy. As previously noted, the glass folding doors will not be received and installed until after the initial opening of the lounge. When these doors are installed, the lounge will be closed for two to three days.
Next week
while the restaurant and lounge are closed, there will be coffee and bear claws available in the morning and barbequed hamburgers late morning/early afternoon by the Pro Shop. More detail is outlined below under News From The Views Restaurant.

  • Solar:
Other than to state that this project is coming along with only minor hitches, there's not much to report.

  • AFC pool deck:
Warranty repairs are needed on this deck and the contractor has been very slow to respond. If progress on the part of the contractor is not made very soon, legal pressure will be necessary. Although this work is taking far too long, it will be completed as the deck does not meet SCOV standards and must be improved.
NOTICE:  If you wish to pay your dues online, the surcharge is now $14.95 for credit card payment. To pay online, simply go to Member Services>This & That>Pay Annual Dues.

NEWS FROM THE VIEWS RESTAURANT:

  • Please note: The Views Restaurant will be closed Monday 6/27 through Friday 7/x1. If all goes as expected with the construction, the lounge will reopen Saturday 7/2 at 6 am. We will have grilled hamburgers and hot dogs w/ chips, cookies, cold non-alcoholic drinks available M-F for purchase at the tent outside the Pro Shop 10:30 AM-2 PM. No happy hour on Friday, July 1. Swimming Pool Use:
Here's a quick reminder to follow the pool rules. Following simple rules such as showering before going in the pool, minimizing lotions, refraining from bringing glass in the pool area, etc. will create a safer and more enjoyable experience for you and others. Thank you for your cooperation.

Safety Reminders from the NPC
Since safety is always uppermost in the minds of the volunteers of the Neighborhood Pride Committee, here are a few reminders for our homeowners:
  • Remember to always lock the door leading from the garage into your house at the end of each day, or if you are planning on being away for an extended period of time. Doing this should prevent an intruder from entering your home through that particular doorway.
  • If you have cacti or bushes that extend out over the main pedestrian walkway (sidewalk), they need to be trimmed back so as not to injure passing walkers.
  • If you have palm trees in your yard with dead fronds, they need to be removed so that in the strong winds of the monsoon season, they won't fly off and become a danger to passing walkers or vehicles.
  • If the sidewalk in front of your home, or on the side if you have property on a corner lot, is raised so that walkers could trip and fall, the section that is raised needs to be repaired or replaced.
