Projects update:
  • Restaurant: This project is coming along well. One item, the folding door that leads from the lounge to the terrace was changed the door won't be delivered for three to five weeks. This will probably result in the need to install a temporary wall where the door will be placed so that a temporary certificate of occupancy can be secured for the lounge. Once this proposed plan is discussed with the Town inspector a decision will be made regarding this issue.
  • Solar and roofing: The re-roofing of areas where the solar panels are moving along on schedule and installation of the solar system is also coming along well. This process will take a few months.
  • Tennis court and pickleball court surfacing: The surfacing is complete and play has begun.
  • Painting: As reported last week Catalina Vista then Desert Oasis have or will be painted.
  • AFC Pool deck: There is not an exact start date but the pool deck will be re-surfaced soon.

Golf Course Rule Change for Hole #10: Gold/While Combo players must play from the White Tee Box and Gold player shall play from the Gold Tee Box. This change is only for Hole #10. Thank you for your cooperation with this rule change.

Happy Hour this Friday 4-7 PM, drink and food specials with entertainment: Corey Spector.

The restaurant to be closed at 3 PM on Thursday, May 19 due to a special event. No happy hour.

NEWS FROM THE VIEWS GOLF CLUB:
Play all summer long until September 19 for one low price. Summer passes available for only $600 ($550 if you own a cart). Purchase your pass today in the Administration Center.

ATTENTION ANNUAL PASSHOLDERS!  In May, you can receive $50 on top of the referral fee if your referral signs up and joins a league in May or June.

Diamondbacks Bus Trip, Wednesday June 15: The D-backs will be playing the Dodgers. There will be only one bus. Tickets will be $48 pp. Price includes bus and game tickets with wonderful seating at the ball park. You can go to the concession stands or be served at your seat. Tickets are on sale at the Welcome Center. Please see Pam or Coco - get your tickets early.

The Board invites you: The Board of Directors wants to invite you to each and every Study Session and Board Meeting. Your thoughts and input are important and one of the best ways to be heard is by attending these monthly meetings. In addition, to this invitation the Board would like you to stop by the meetings 15 minutes before the meetings begin so you and the Board Members can have an opportunity for a casual conversation. This pre-meeting period will give you an opportunity to have one-on-one with Board Members so you can either talk about light social issues or an Association related issue that may be very important to you. The next Board Meeting will be Tuesday, May 24th at 9 AM, in the Welcome Center, Conference Room 3. Please stop by a little early.

If you are leaving for the summer, please notify Administration your summer change of address so we can make sure any mail from us to you during your absence from SCOV is directed to the appropriate location.

Community Telephone Directory:  A request for help.....have you noticed any errors in the first 44 pages of our directory that need correction? A problem could be a church listing, or a club that no longer exists, or a utility phone number error or an error with an area attraction? It is greatly appreciated if you notify me of any exceptions so that they may be fixed. I am planning to make August 1, the absolute final deadline for any changes or additions. The online/website directory will be updated next week and it is imperative that all residents look at their listings. I have done major changes to phone numbers by adding all of the 520 area codes. Drive carefully: Recently too many complaints have been registered about our residents driving vehicles and golf carts too fast and irresponsibly. For your safety and the safety of your neighbors, please drive within the speed limit and properly within the streets and golf cart paths.

Shop Oro Valley and win prizes: There is a weekly drawing for prizes for those who shop at Oro Valley stores.  You need to save receipts but they can be copied and emailed or they can be mailed in or delivered to OV Offices, in order to be in the drawing.  Runs from May 2 to July 1.
