Projects: The Restaurant project continues to proceed on time. As with any project, a few change orders have been necessary but nothing has occurred so far that will have a material impact to the timeline or budget. The solar project is also moving along well. Three of the four submittals from the solar company to the Town have been approved and the forth submittal will take place very soon. Roof work is expected to start next week at Catalina Vista. The initial solar installation will begin within a week or two and is planned to be initiated at the golf maintenance building as there will be no need to coordinate with the roofing contractor in that location.
2016-17 Homeowners' Dues: The Administration has been receiving inquiries about what the dues will be next year and if they can be paid now. In response to those inquiries, please note that the 2016-17 Budget will not be approved until April 26 at the April Board Meeting. Once the Budget is approved, the dues will be established and payment may be made.
If you are leaving for the summer, please notify Administration your summer change of address so we can make sure any mail from us to you during your absence from SCOV is directed to the appropriate location.
  1. Come in directly to the Administration office to complete a form to change your mailing address.
  2. Call 520-917-8065 and advise you need to change your mailing address.
  3. Fill the form out online here or  suncityorovalley.com>Members>Member Services>This & That>Address Change
Do you have items to sell or want to buy? Have you checked out our on-line bulletin board? Go to suncityorovalley.com>News & Info>Bulletin Board. New items to sell or buy are added daily.
The Board invites you: The Board of Directors wants to invite you to each and every Study Session and Board Meeting. Your thoughts and input are important and one of the best ways to be heard is by attending these monthly meetings. In addition, to this invitation the Board would like you to stop by the meetings 15 minutes before the meetings begin so you and the Board Members can have an opportunity for a casual conversation. This pre-meeting period will give you an opportunity to have one-on-one time with Board Members so you can either talk about light social issues or an Association related issue that may be very important to you. The next Board Meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 26th 9 a.m. in the Welcome Center, Conference Room 3. Please stop by a little early.
Please keep trash cans off of sidewalks: Here's another request to please place your trash cans on one side or the other of the sidewalk. As everyone knows, sidewalks are made for a very specific purpose. I imagine that why they were given the name side (they are on the side of the street and a lot) and walk (they are meant for walking). So, please have consideration for the many walkers in SCOV and give them a clear path to get their exercise by walking through the community.
New Opportunities in the Sun Corridor presentation: We've heard about Economic Development plans for Oro Valley (GAC program, January, 2016).
Now THINK BIGGER! How about Economic Development activities for the
whole Tucson region? Mike Guymon (from a non-profit development company)
will explain work to develop 'New Opportunities in the 'Sun Corridor'. This includes the impact of the Port of Tucson, the Port of Guaymas, the I-11 highway, and the CanaMex corridor. Also the impact of decreasing value of the Peso and relevant Government relations at local, regional and national levels. What does the future hold for this area? Come and learn. Bring your questions. Monday, April 25 at 1 PM, Activity Center/Navajo-Hohokam.
