This Week in SCOV

4/7/16

Best of the Northwest: Once again Sun City Oro Valley and The Views fared well in the Explorer's Best of the Northwest. The Views Golf Club returned to its desired position as the #1 best golf course. Sun City Oro Valley came in second place to Splendido. Since Splendido is actually a "retirement" community, I suppose they deserve to be #1 in this category. Considering that The Views Restaurant was a write-in, the Restaurant did pretty well coming in #2 Best Family Friendly Restaurant and #3 Best Fine Dining Restaurant.

Bylaw and Master Declaration vote forums: Last week's report included dates for the forum, one of which was incorrect. The forums will be held on Monday, April 11 at 6:30 PM and Friday, April 22 at 10 AM. Both forums will be held in the auditorium. Please attend one of these forums to best become informed about the proposed changes to these documents and the reasons for the changes.

Outdoor Movie Night - We are happy to be presenting an outdoor movie for all to enjoy at no cost. This will take place on April 17th at dusk (approximately 7 p.m.). The movie that will be shown is "The Intern". The move tells of a man who is tired of retirement and goes back to work.  It is a funny movie that we know you will like. The movie screen will be on the driving range area viewable from the grass area around the practice green and the cart parking area. Drive your cart to the area and watch the movie from your cart or if you don't have a golf cart please bring lawn chairs. Lanes will be taped off indicating where to park your cart or sit. Areas closest to the screen will be reserved for chairs and limited supply of free popcorn will be available and the beverage cart will have snacks and drinks for sale.

Our aluminum can recycle program needs help
. Are you a year-around resident? If so, can you spare 20-30 minutes one day a week to sort cans at our main collection area behind the Activity Center kitchen? This task can be performed by either men or women. We need replacements for our winter residents who are leaving for the summer. Over the last ten years, the recycling program has provided over $36,000 to support our Loan Room, along with other activities in SCOV. Please volunteer if you are able to help us. The Board invites you: The Board of Directors wants to invite you to each and every Study Session and Board Meeting. Your thoughts and input are important and one of the best ways to be heard is by attending these monthly meetings. In addition, to this invitation the Board would like you to stop by the meetings 15 minutes before the meetings begin so you and the Board Members can have an opportunity for a casual conversation. This pre-meeting period will give you an opportunity to have one-on-one time with Board Members so you can either talk about light social issues or an Association related issue that may be very important to you. The next Board Study Session will be held Thursday, April 14th at 9 AM,  Welcome Center, Conference Room 3. Please stop by a little early.
