Restaurant Project: Although we have not received formal approval from the Town for the permit, we have good news in that the required pre-construction meeting with the Town took place this week and every indication is that we'll have approved plans this week or early next week. If this occurs, we'll receive a $3,000 credit from W.E. O'Neil as negotiated with the construction contract. The project must be completed in 100 days or less. Delays not caused by such issues as weather, will result in daily liquidated damages of $200. Our experience with W.E. O'Neil is that they complete jobs on time so it's expected that the project will be completed in late June or early July.
Pro Shop: A grand opening is planned for April 5. More information will be coming soon. A ground breaking ceremony will take place at the same time for the restaurant project.
Solar project: Plans for the Catalina Vista portion of this project have been submitted to the Town of Oro Valley for review. In the meantime, Board approval for roofing work in the areas where the solar panels will be installed will be requested at the March Board Meeting.
The Board Invites You: The Board of Directors wants to invite you to each and every Study Session and Board Meeting. Your thoughts and input are important and one of the best ways to be heard is by attending these monthly meetings. In addition, to this invitation the Board would like you to stop by the meetings 15 minutes before the meetings begin so you and the Board Members can have an opportunity for a casual conversation. This pre-meeting period will give you an opportunity to have one-on-one time with Board Members so you can either talk about light social issues or an Association related issue that may be very important to you. The next Board Meeting will be held Tuesday, March 22, 9 AM in the Welcome Center, Conference Room 3. Please stop by a little early.
Telephone Directory: Online directory was updated on March 8. New residents' information and changes have been compiled also in March. PLEASE, if you have very simple changes to make to the directory, it can be put in an email directly to me. Thanks! Carolyn Lerch gclerch@comcast.net
Tipster index: The Tipster Editorial Committee is taking steps to address legitimate complaints from readers who have asserted over the years that it is very difficult to find specific articles, since a complete index to contents does not currently exist. Over the next few issues, readers will see changes in the "What's Inside" mini-index found on Page 3 in the Tipster and in the ordering of clubs and other submissions. These changes should make it easier for readers to quickly find articles that are of interest to them.
Outdoor Movie Night: There will be an Outdoor Movie Night on April 17th.  We would like to hear some suggestions for selection of a movie, click here to provide your suggestion.
We hope to make this a fun night for all. There will be no charge for this event. You will be bringing your lawn chairs or ride up in your golf cart. More details later.
Quilt presentation cancelled: Due to a conflict with her schedule, speaker, Patsy Heacox, has cancelled her quilt presentation next Tuesday in the Navajo Room.
Dog Poop and Leashes: If you don't have your dog on a leash and/or you are not picking up after your dog, you are in violation of Oro Valley Town ordinances, and are subject to fines. Plus you are exposing yourself to liability and are being disrespectful to your neighbors. Please keep your dog on a leash and under control at all times when walking with him/her and please pick up after your dog.
The Modelers Club will be having an open house in the Artisan Center: There will be HO trains running through the village and landscape. A realistic computer Flight simulator will be in operation. People will be building their models.
