This Week in SCOV

12/10/15
Pro Shop Project: The Pro Shop continues to await completion of review by the Town of the revise fire suppression system plans. The plans had to be revised due to the situation that it was decided to handle the monitoring panel by wireless method. This alleviated having to trench from the pro shop to the panel which is located on the south side of the maintenance building. We expect the Town review to be completed within a few days if not sooner. Once that review is complete, the contractor will call for an inspection of the fire suppression system and a project final which will hopefully result in a temporary certificate of occupancy. The reason we will be seeking a temporary certificate of occupancy is due to the need to complete the handicap restroom access which will require some modifications to the asphalt area leading from the Pro Shop to the handicap restroom in the maintenance center. The plan is to install a handicap port-a-potty while the asphalt work is in progress which we anticipate will satisfy the Town on a temporary basis until the asphalt work can be completed.
Restaurant/Lounge project: The Team is in the process of discussing fine points with the interior design firm, architect and contractor. The major issue that is under discussion is possible alternative access points to the kitchen from the lounge for the servers. The reason this issue is under discussion is that we found that the access designed will not be allowed without major modifications to the kitchen hood system. Since this modification will likely be expensive, the Team is considering various other access areas. In addition to these discussions, the plans continue to be under review by the Town. An optimistic start date at this time is sometime in January and a more realistic start date is in February.
