Clubs, Native American Room storage: Is your club storing items in the Native American room storage area? If so, please note that insects have been seen in the storage area. These critters usually show up due to food that is stored. If your club has any food (sugar, creamers, etc.) stored in the Native American room storage area, please make sure that these items are stored in very well sealed plastic containers. In an effort to rid the room of any insects, the room will be sprayed within one to two weeks. In addition, all clubs will be asked to remove unnecessary items from the storage room in January and clean their respective areas at which time the room will be sprayed again for insects.
Solar project: The Board approved the solar project that will provide about half of the electrical needs for the common area buildings. The solar system will be leased and may be purchased by the Association after five years. Installation is expected to begin in April 2016 and will take a few months to complete. It's expected that the system will save somewhere between approximately $500,000 and $1,000,000 in electrical costs over the 20 year lease and could result in a greater savings if the Association buys out the lease after the first five years of the lease.
Pro Shop project: The building is complete and could be used now. However, due to the need to finish the alarm system on the fire suppression system, striping for handicap and direction to a restroom, the Town will not give us a certificate of occupancy. Many times the Town will give a temporary certificate under these conditions but so far there is not a willingness to allow use of the building.
Lounge/Café project: As noted in my last report, the lounge/café (now The Views) has been approved. At this point, contracts are being negotiated and the plans are under review by the Town. Best case scenario, the project will probably begin in January.
