Pro Shop Project: The Pro Shop project has progressed far enough so that a photo for this report made sense. At right is a shot of the structure as it stood on Monday, August 17th. In addition to the progress on the building the new golf car parking lot has been paved and is waiting for bollard lighting and guard rails to be installed.

New scam: If you get a call from the "IRS" claiming a suit is being filed against you, it's a scam. Report it to the OV Police Department.
Please be aware: It has been brought to our attention there are a couple of gentlemen going door to door inquiring whether or not you wish to lower your satellite bill. These individuals are dressed in a black shirt with a kangaroo on it. They will know your name. BUT, they do not have any other identification on them nor do they have a permit from the Town of Oro Valley to do any solicitation. If you decide to go with their service, remember that you MUST have a "Prior to Installing a Dish Satellite form completed (which may be picked up in the Administration office). THIS FORM IS MANDATORY. These installers will tell you otherwise, but that is not the Association's policy. If at any time you feel uncomfortable, immediately call the Oro Valley Police Department. As a reminder, SCOV is not a "no solicitation" community; however, you are welcome to post a "no solicitation" sign on your door that is compliant with the SCOV Development Standards.
Golder Ranch File of Life and Lockbox: It's been a few months since I last sent out any information on the File of Life or lockbox that Golder Ranch offers so here's a reminder. The File of Life is a pouch that is placed on your refrigerator with medical and other information you provide in it. In case of a medical emergency, the responders will access this information for use in assisting you with the medical emergency. The lockbox is a box that is installed outside your home and has your house key in it. In case of a medical emergency, the responders and only the responders can access the lockbox and unlock your door to access your home rather than breaking in as they so often have to do. You can get more information about both of these items by calling the Fire Department at 818-1017.
Copper Health construction fence: It's been brought to our attention that many residents think that the ugly construction fence on the west side of Copper Health is there because of delays the Town has caused. The fact is that the Town approved the permit to complete the storm drain work a couple of month ago or more. It's Copper Health that is delaying the completion of the project. Two excuses have been given for this delay. One had something to do with refinancing and the latest excuse is that Copper Health is waiting to get a permit to install their back-up generator so this work and the drainage work can be accomplished at one time. If the latter excuse is the current reasoning for not doing the storm drain project now, there will be a long wait for any work to be completed as the plans for the generator have not been submitted to the Town yet. The other concern about this excuse is that it's difficult to understand why it's important for these two projects to be completed at the same time as one project involves masonry and electrical work and the other involves underground drainage work. These two projects seem to require very different contractors. If this assumption is correct, there's no justification to wait and do both projects at the same time. In the meantime, the Association has taken action as would be done with a residential lot to enforce ARC Rules. To date, Copper Health has taken no action to show that they plan to comply by completing the drainage project and removing the construction fence.
Golf Course Walkers tee-times: Starting in September tee-times will begin at 7 a.m. As a result, non-golfers may stay on the course until just before 7 a.m. Please keep in mind that golfers have priority. So, if you happen to be walking or riding a cart on the course while golfers are out there, please be aware and step aside to allow golfers to play.
Lightning & the Pools: In an effort to keep you safe and limit the Association's (your) liability,
the monitors use a lightning meter to determine when residents and guests should depart from the pool and spa areas. When the lightning meter indicates lightning is within 15 miles from the pool, the monitors will ask residents and guests to leave the pool/spa areas. Although 15 miles may seem like a long way off, lightning can move quickly and strike the pool/spa areas here
within a few minutes. Therefore, when the monitors ask that you leave the pool/spa areas,
please comply immediately. Thank you for your cooperation.
Lounge Project: The lounge project continues in its planning stage. The primary focus at this point is completion of the construction drawings. Once these drawing are completed, they will
be submitted to the Town for approval and submitted to contractors for bid.
