We would like to thank everyone for their patience while the new pro shop construction and putting green sodding continues. It is greatly appreciated!

Pro Shop Project: The work on the pro shop continues. The kiosk for the ball machine is scheduled for completion next week. Close behind that portion of the project is the new cart parking area, which is scheduled for final grading work on August 10 and 11 then asphalt on August 12 and striping on August 13. Light bollards and a guardrail will also be installed in the parking area but the exact schedule for those installations is not certain yet. The pro shop structure is coming along very well. Among other phases of the building construction, all foundation work is complete, most of the block work is finished; and the steel installation is beginning today.

Lounge project: Except for the finishing touches such as putting the design board together, 99% of the design decisions have been made. The construction plans are about 75% complete. Unless a significant amount of changes to the plans are needed or desired by the Implementation Team in conjunction with the design/build contractor and architect prior to finalizing plans, the goal is to issue the plans to the Town in August for review and permitting in August.

Telephone Directory: An UPDATED draft for the 2015-2016 printed community directory that is distributed to all SCOV residents is now on-line in the Members Only section on the SCOV website for your review. If you have not already done so, please take a moment to find your entry to ensure your information is correct. For those of you who personally requested certain information be removed from the printed directory, please note this has been done. The deadline for additions and adjustments is July 31.  If there are any further changes, please complete the form in the Administration office or contact Carolyn Lerch at gclerch@comcast.net.

NOTE:  Some of the 520 area code numbers may actually require that 520 be dialed along with the number.  Be specific about that fact when submitting your requests to Carolyn Lerch. (Carolyn is a resident volunteer and does not work in the office.) When Carolyn receives new or change information for the telephone directory, she makes the changes to her database.

If you know the model name of your home and have a nice picture of the front that could be used on the new website in our HOMES section (which will feature a floor plan along with a photograph of that house plan), please complete a photo release along with a picture of your home here or go to scovaz.com, click on News & Info, click on Surveys and choose Submit a Picture of Your Home. Thank you for your help!

Library project and old catalog bids: The Library Update Project is nearly complete. Stop by with your Facility Access card to activate your account and see the new circulation desk and computers. Thanks again to the ILR, the FOL, and the Woodworking Club for making this project possible. We are taking bids for the old card catalog as it is no longer needed. Think it would look good in your house? Place your bid with Librarian, Kate Cusumano. Currently the bidding is at $150.

Join the Sun City Democratic Club on August 8 at 1 PM in the Navajo Room (Activity Center) to hear guest speaker Tory Anderson, Executive Director for the Arizona Alliance for Retired Americans speak on what's happening in Washington and threats to Social Security and Medicare.  RSVPs appreciated but not required!  Questions?  Contact club president Maureen Salz 520-240-0049 or mosalz@outlook.com

Racquetball Court closed: The racquetball court will be closed from August 3 - 17 while the court floor is under repair.

Website: The new and much enhanced SCOV website is planned for a launch in early September. More information will be available as the deadline nears.
