Want to help SCOV support Emerge?

The SCOV Emerge Auxiliary benefits Emerge! Center Against Domestic Abuse, which help victims of domestic abuse throughout Tucson and the surrounding areas. This organization provides support and transitional housing to women and children in crisis. Emerge helps to educate the community by providing presentations on domestic abuse, as well as counseling to child survivors on handling conflict, trauma and abuse.

Emerge wish list this month: Families come to us in crisis. While they focus on healing from their abuse, our staff ensures their basic needs are met. Your gifts help build new, empowered lives!

  • Gift Cards: Fry's, Safeway, Walmart, Target, Walgreen's, Home Depot
  • Backpacks
  • School Supplies: binders, calculators, folders, highlighters, etc. (We already have a healthy supply of notebooks)
  • Hair Brushes
  • New Bath Towels and New Pillows
  • Cash Donations are always appreciated!

If you have a donation, please contact Nancy Williams at 818-3178. Thank you!

Those Bright Yellow Bags: Is your neighbor away?  If there is a bright yellow bag on the sidewalk leading to their front door, why not be a good neighbor and pick it up for them?  If you know them, keep it until they return; if not, put it up by the door in a place not so noticeable.  The bright yellow color of the bag, along with newspapers strewn about, sure makes that home look vacant and an open invitation for a possible crime.  Let's look out for each other and continue to help make SCOV a safe place in which to live.

Town Council Candidates: If you want to sign the petitions to get Oro Valley Town Council Candidates STEVE DIDIO, RYAN HARTUNG AND SHIRL LAMONNA on the November ballot, you can do so next week. Volunteers will have a table inside the Activity Center on Monday, July 20th through Saturday, July 25th (Monday - Saturday) from 8:30 to 11:30 AM.

Telephone Directory:  The draft for the 2015-2016 printed community directory that is distributed to all SCOV residents is now on-line in the Members Only section on the SCOV website for your review. Please take a moment to find your entry to ensure your information is correct. For those of you who personally requested certain information be removed from the printed directory, please note this has been done. The deadline for additions and adjustments has been extended to July 31, 2015.  If there are any further changes, please complete the form in the Administration office or contact Carolyn Lerch at gclerch@comcast.net.

Resignation notice a typo? Several residents have commented or questioned the date noted in my resignation notice. As a result, I thought the issue should be cleared up and confirmed that the date is December 31, 2016. Considering the projects and issues at hand plus the time needed for a thorough search and transition, the Board and I agreed that this timeframe would be most beneficial for the Board, membership and staff
