This Week in SCOV
_____________________________________________________________

July 1, 2015

New restaurant name: As the restaurant is undergoing an expansion, SCOV resident input is being sought to provide it with a new name. Names will be collected and reviewed by a committee. Several will be selected and presented to SCOV residents for a vote. The new name will be used to market our restaurant, lounge & patio to our residents, golfers, people looking for catering opportunities and to our surrounding community. Share your creative recommendations with us and be a part of renaming our restaurant, lounge & patio facility. Click here to submit a name.  A hard copy form to submit a name is also available in the Administration Office. Submissions will be accepted through Monday, July 6.

Join the Sun City Democratic Club on Saturday, July 11 at 1 PM in the Navajo Room of the Activity Center for a presentation that crosses all party lines...WATER!  Our guest speaker will be Mitch Basefsky of the Central Arizona Project (CAP).  CAP is designed to bring about 1.5 million acre-feet of Colorado River water per year to Pima, Pinal and Maricopa counties. It carries water from Lake Havasu near Parker to the southern boundary of the San Xavier Indian Reservation southwest of Tucson. Hear about the current situation with water shortages on the Colorado River and the impending drought declaration.  Find out what it will mean to you.  Get the most up-to-date information to keep you well informed on water issues in our area!   RSVPs appreciated but not required!  Questions?  Contact club president Maureen Salz at 520-240-0049 or mosalz@outlook.com.

SCOV website community (telephone) directory:  We are getting very close to the deadlines for the 2015 Community Directory.  A new website directory will be up by Monday, July 6 for your review.  If you have not completed an on-line or hard copy form and you want to be included in the next book, please do so no later than July 15.  If it is easier for you to send an email, that is fine.  Remember, email addresses will not go into the actual book-form directory, only on-line on the SCOV website under the Members Only section.  Also some of you have given instructions for some of your data not to be included in the actual book. These have been designated in the database and plan to be accurate!  Please contact Carolyn Lerch at 818-3319 or gclerch@comcast.net to update any information/correction required for the Helpful Information portion of the book or the Clubs and Area Attractions sections. Thank you.
