This Week in SCOV

June 4, 2015

Homeowner's dues billing delay: There was a delay with the printer in sending out the annual dues mailing.  It was supposed to be sent last Friday, but was not mailed until Wednesday, June 3.  You should be receiving your annual dues packet by June 8 or 9, perhaps earlier depending on the efficiency of the postal service. Please accept our apology for this delay.

New Food and Beverage Director: Although some very much appreciated improvements were made to the food and beverage operation during the past year, the department has not met the standards and goals established. As a result, a new Food and Beverage Director has been brought on board. Our new director is Christopher Sapp. Christopher has an excellent background that includes a Master's Degree from UCLA in Hotel Management and a large portion of his professional career has been in management with Ritz-Carlton. We expect Chris to bring new ideas and a new level of excellence to the food and beverage department operation. Please stop by the Café when you get a chance to meet Christopher and enjoy a meal at your restaurant.

Weathered Brown wrought iron fence painting countdown: Have you painted your fence yet? If not, please keep in mind that there are seven months left until January 1, 2016, when all fences need to be painted Dunn Edwards Weathered Brown. Any brand of paint may be used as long as the color is Dunn Edwards Weathered Brown.

ARC Inspections: The ARC has added a subcommittee, the Architectural Compliance Team (ACT), which will do courtesy inspections to the exterior of your property. If you are thinking of putting your home on the market, or are just curious, the ACT will do an inspection of your home for you. If you have a courtesy inspection done, you are under no obligation to make any corrections to your home, should any be needed. It is just a heads up as to the condition of your property. If you want an inspection done contact Katy Mosier, Community Services Coordinator, at 917-8058 or see her in the Welcome Center.

Due to members of the committee being out of town, the ARC will not hold its scheduled meeting on June 23. The next scheduled meeting after June 23 will be July 14. If you are planning on having anything done that requires ARC approval, please keep this in mind before you hire a contractor or start any project. Note:  The ARC will now be meeting at 2 PM on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month in WC3.

The Board invites you: The Board of Directors wants to invite you to each and every Study Session and Board Meeting. Your thoughts and input are important and one of the best ways to be heard is by attending these monthly meetings. In addition, to this invitation the Board would like you to stop by the meetings 15 minutes before the meetings begin so you and the Board Members can have an opportunity for a casual conversation. This pre-meeting period will give you an opportunity to have one-on-one time with Board Members so you can either talk about light social issues or an Association related issue that may be very important to you. The combined Study Session/Board Meeting will be held Tuesday, June 11 at 9 AM in the Welcome Center, Conference Room 3. Please stop by a little early.
