Questions, comments, etc. regarding This Week's SCOV Report: If you have a question, comment or other response that you would like to make regarding an item in this report, you may reply to this message. Depending on the nature of your response (comment, question, etc.), I will acknowledge your reply, answer your questions or take other appropriate action(s) in as timely a manner as possible.

Pickleball/Bocce ball: The construction status has not changed from last week. The pickleball court concrete is curing for approximately another three weeks before the surface can be applied and we expect the bocce ball concrete to be poured early next month. In the meantime, one of the tennis courts has been made available to the pickleball players. One tennis court can be made into two pickleball courts. The bocce ball players have also been provided with a place to play. Although not as perfect as the bocce ball courts, the grassy knoll by the pro shop has been cut about as short as possible and the water reduced as much as possible so that bocce ball can be played on the lawn.

Copper Health: One of the owners, Terry McNellis of Copper Health (project on the corner of Sun City and Rancho Vistoso Blvd.) was in attendance at the October Board Meeting to provide an update. According to Mr. McNellis, construction will be completed in December. The facility will begin operation shortly after construction is complete. Once Medicare approval is given, the facility will be fully functional. This should occur no later than March of 2015.

Crosswalk safety: Better safe than sorry. Many drivers fail to slow or stop when they see someone entering a crosswalk. So, please don't assume they are watching out for you. Be very careful when crossing the street in a crosswalk or for that matter anywhere. Keep an on eye on the vehicles and if they are not slowing or stopping, give them the right-of-way or you may give up a lot more than that.

Rancho Vistoso street lights: The Town has updated information on its progress in repairing and/or replacing the lighting along Rancho Vistoso Blvd. It is in a three year cycle as replacement of the circuit is a significant expense and requires budgeting. They have budgeted to replace a circuit each year.  One circuit works off and on and they are making repairs to it. A flyer from the Town has been placed on the News & Information, Community Watch page CLICK HERE to view the flyer  which shows the location of the circuits and some updated news on the project.

Door to door solicitor information: Some have asked about the requirements for solicitors in the Town (and SCOV). The Town provides a flyer addressing this topic. To view the flyer CLICK THIS the click on Solicitor Information.
