AFC pool deck refinishing: The AFC pool deck which is in need of repair and refinishing will begin Monday, November 3rd. It's estimated that the work will take ten days to complete during which time the AFC pool area will be closed. The pool should re-open on November 14th. We apologize for any inconvenience.

SCOV Vistoso Cyclist's Food Drive update: To date we have received donations which bring us just past halfway toward our hope of using the entire $7,000 gift match generously provided by the SCV Foundation. With less than 2 weeks to go we hope to use the entire gift match grant to provide food for those in need through the Food Bank at ICS. This year the need has grown by 16%. You can help cover this increase by sending a check made out to "ICS" with "Food Bank" in the memo line to Dave Nelson, 1900 E. Somnolent Way, 85755. Dave can be reached at 520-825-8641.

Planning for the Next Phase of Retirement presentation: Vistoso Helpful Hands sponsors another in the series of "Planning for the Next Phase of Retirement, with Margaret Roberts, on Wednesday, Oct 29, Catalina Vista 2PM. Light refreshments.

Neighborhood Pride Committee Reminder - About Those Messy Trees:

African Sumac (Rhus Lancea) trees were originally planted in many SCOV front yards. They are invasive, allergenic, and very messy trees with copious debris. If you have this tree, or any other that drops debris in your neighbor's yard as well as yours, please have your landscaper remove not only the droppings in your yard but in your neighbor's yard as well.

Should you choose to have any tree removed from your front yard, you should know that the revised Development Standards of SCOV no longer require a tree or trees in front yards. SCOV and Oro Valley do not allow new African Sumac trees to be planted anywhere in the town. You may, however, keep any of these trees already on your property, should you wish to do so.
