Pro Shop Proposal: Don't forget to mark your calendar for the Long Range Planning Committee/Ad Hoc Task Team's presentation of its proposal for a new, relocated Pro Shop. This proposal, developed at the request of the Board of Directors, will be presented on Saturday, November 8, at 2 PM in the Auditorium. Team members will address the Board's reasons for requesting the proposal, its financial impact and benefits, the design process and improved functionality, and the estimated cost. The project architect (whose services were obtained for a golf trade, at no cost to the Association membership) will present and explain his drawings and elevations. A question and answer period will follow, and all input will be considered by the LRPC before its final proposal is presented to the Board. A Happy Hour in the Café will follow, at 4 PM. This will provide residents an opportunity to examine the drawings, and to speak with the architect and team members. You can submit questions and suggestions in advance by emailing proshoptaskteam@suncityorovalley.com.

Board candidate nominations sought: Nominations are being sought for the SCOV Board of Directors. If you are interested in serving on the Board or have someone you would like to nominate, please complete the nomination form

Strategic Projects Committee recommendations (Initiatives): The Strategic Projects Committee worked diligently for months and developed approximately 90 recommendations regarding golf, food and beverage, marketing and other matters and submitted these recommendations to the Board for consideration. On Tuesday, September 30 the Board met for nearly three hours to review each of these recommendations which are now referred to as initiatives and determined if they should or should not be pursued and to which committee and/or staff each initiative should be assigned. The minutes of these meeting will be published soon so that the membership can see the results of this arduous process. There's no doubt that the SPC Committee's work and Board diligence in carefully vetting the committee's initiatives will prove beneficial for the Community.

Correction regarding renters: My report last week indicated that renters had to provide the administration office with their leases and the fee for the activity cards is $50. That information is not correct. As required by State statute, the fee for the card cannot be more than $25. Also, the Association may not require the owner to disclose any information about the tenants other than the names and contact information of the tenants, the time period of the lease including beginning and ending dates of the tenancy, license plate numbers of the tenants' vehicles and in an age restricted community such as SCOV, the age of the tenants. Although the Association cannot require to see the lease or have a copy of it, providing some of the information as noted above may be easiest by bringing the lease into the office when registering.

Do you rent out your home? Please be advised of the following:

  1. Your membership cards are non-transferable and may only be used by you.
  2. Before any renter(s) cards are issued, we MUST have your membership cards on file AND your HOA dues must be up to date.
  3. There is a new form that must be completed by you and returned by your renter(s) when they come in to receive their renter's cards. Please find this form on the website, www.scovaz.com. Go to Association, Governing Documents and click on Renter/Delegated Form. The HOA does not require to see the lease; however, it is requested that the lease is brought into the Administration office so that accurate information will be provided to the Association.
  4. The issuance fee for a renter card is $25 per person and that is good for the length of the lease.
  5. Please be advised the front office will not keep on file any future rental agreements. It is the responsibility of the renter to submit all paperwork upon arrival to SCOV.

Please do contact the administration office with any questions - 520-825-3711.
