Questions, comments, etc. regarding This Week's SCOV Report: If you have a question, comment or other response that you would like to make regarding an item in this report, you may reply to this message. Depending on the nature of your response (comment, question, etc.), I will acknowledge your reply, answer your questions or take other appropriate action(s) in as timely a manner as possible.

Projects Update:

Restrooms:The Artisan Center, Posse Shack and Tennis restrooms renovations are complete and look very nice.

Catalina Vista restrooms: So that the renovations of these restrooms does not interfere with the election polling that will take place on August 26th, these projects will begin on August 27th and are scheduled for completion by September 19th.

AFC outside restrooms: Renovation of these restrooms is underway. It's expected to take about three weeks to complete this refreshing project.

Pickleball/Bocce Courts: The plans are under review by the Town. The initial review is complete; however, as usual there were some comments from Town staff that need to be responded to by the contractor. This means that the plans must be re-submitted once additional information is provided by the contractor. I was informed that these comments are all minor issues so they should not result in a significant delay.

Wash projects:
The project in Chalk Creek wash is complete and has been approved by the engineering firm and Town. Keep in mind that these erosion mitigation projects do not guarantee that no erosion or damage will occur in these areas under any and all conditions that may occur in the future. However, the work that has been completed will provide substantial protection to the adjacent properties and the wash area.

Help Wanted, Café:
The Café is gearing up for the high season and is hiring staff. We are seeking a full-time cook with benefits; part-time server; part-time dishwasher; and part-time golf course beverage cart person. Phone Scams:
We continue to receive notifications of various phone scams that SCOV residents are receiving. These include, but are not limited to:  a friend or relative in trouble and needing money, Windows support, travel packages, prize winner notification, urgent charity causes, etc. if you receive a call from someone you don't know who is trying to sell you something you had not planned to purchase, say "no thank you" and hang up. If they try to pressure you for your personal information or a credit card, it is likely a scam. Report it immediately to the OV Police Department and the Federal Trade Commission CLICK HERE. The FTC website is full of very useful information if you wish to learn more.

New Disposal Service:
There is another disposal service offering service in the area, Right Away Disposal (RAD). RAD picks up on Tuesdays and charges $10 a month or $30 a quarter for trash service only and $14 a month or $42 a quarter for both trash and recycling. If you are interested in this service or want any other information, please call RAD at 881-4227. There is NO relationship between RAD and SCOV. This information is only provided as a service to advise you of an alternative to Waste Management or Republic Services.
