Project Update:

Restrooms: The Artisan Center, Posse Shack and Tennis restrooms renovations are planned for completion today or tomorrow. I state "planned" as our staff and contractor have run into one issue after another. These challenges are being dealt with yet have created some delays in completing the projects.

Catalina Vista restrooms: So that the renovations of these restrooms do not interfere with the election polling that will take place on August 26th, these projects will begin on August 27th and are scheduled for completion by September 19th.

AFC outside restrooms: Renovation of these restrooms is planned to begin the week of August 11th or at the latest the week of August 18th.

Pickleball/Bocce Courts: The plans are under review by the Town. If all goes well, the review will be completed within the next few days. If this occurs, construction should get underway by the first week in September.

Wash projects: The work in unit 7 is progressing very well and should be complete within the next few days.

New Intermediate Golf School: The Views is offering an intermediate golf school starting May 10, and just a few spaces are left. Don't miss out! Only $120 for six one-hour lessons (a bargain at $20/ea.). Dates are August 30, September 1, 6, 7, 13 and 14 from 8:30-9:30 AM. Sign up online here.

Happy Hour: Be sure to attend the Taco Bar Happy Hour today, Thursday, August 14 from 4-7 PM. This will be a fun new twist on the happy hour events so don't miss it.

Food and Alcohol in pool area: There have been a few incidents of residents bringing food and alcoholic beverages into the pool areas recently. In fact, glass bottles were left in the AFC pool area just last week which if broken can easily lead to injury and/or the need to drain the pool. We fully understand the desire to socialize with food and drink around the pools; however, for valid reasons food, alcoholic beverages and glass bottles are NOT allowed in the pool areas per the Association Rules. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in this matter.

Tuscany Dinner at the Café: Don't even think about missing this scrumptious dinner. Some of your favor Tuscan choices and some unique choices will be served on Friday, August 22nd from 4:30 to 7:30. This will be a fine dining experience in the casual atmosphere of your Café at a very reasonable price (entrees only $14 to $16). So, why drive across town when you can have a fantastic dinner steps away from your home. Call 825-3277 for reservations!

Help eliminate unwanted phone calls: Are you receiving unwanted telemarketing calls, even on your cell phone? Take a few moments and register your phone number with the National Do Not Call Registry. It's free and takes seconds to complete. https://www.donotcall.gov/ Speaking of cell phones, there was a time when receiving a telemarketing call on your cell phone was rare. Not so now.

Here is a good article on how people's cell phone numbers are getting to marketers. http://www.techlicious.com/tip/7-ways-telemarketers-get-your-cell-phone-number/

You may also want to know that the database for the Sun City directory, is kept under lock and key and shared with no one, plus the phone book is distributed only to SCOV residents. So, unless one of our residents shares a directory with someone outside the community, the information you include in the directory is very unlikely to be used for solicitation.
