Questions, comments, etc. regarding This Week's SCOV Report: If you have a question, comment or other response that you like to make regarding an item in this report, you may reply to this message. Depending on the nature of your response (comment, question, etc.), I will acknowledge your reply, answer your questions or take other appropriate action(s) in as timely a manner as possible

Nonresident use of AFC: During a period of two weeks the monitor randomly checked secure access cards/fobs of approximately 170 individuals who entered the AFC. Of those individuals checked, one person was a nonresident who was let into the facility. He was not there to use the fitness center but to inquiry about a membership in the fitness center. Of course, he was informed that the AFC is for residents only. One other exception was an instructor who was let in by a resident. There were also four confirmed guests of residents who had the resident's cards. Although this is not a huge sampling, it appears that there is essentially no material use of the AFC by nonresidents who are not authorized to use the facility by one means or another. To best assure that the facility is only used by residents and guests, random checks will be conducted from time-to-time. If it is found through these random checks that abuse is occurring, additional safeguards will be put into place.

Fitness Center shoes: Shoes worn while working out in the fitness center must fully enclose the foot. This type of shoe will properly support an individual exercising and will help maintain your safety. Sandals, open toe and open heal shoes are not allowed while working out in the fitness center.

New Summer Golf Pass: Unlimited golf and a bucket of balls for each round for only $599 including a cart or $549 without a cart. This pass is valid from May 1st to over seeding in September, over four and a half months of golf. Pick up your summer pass at the Welcome Center.

Attention all golf cart owners:Help us to help you improve golf cart safety. Please stop by the front office to complete a very short form regarding your cart or you may do it online https://suncityvistoso-wufoo.com/forms/scov-resident-golf-cart-questionnaire. Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

Scam: Residents Beware! If you receive a phone call from a person claiming to be from Microsoft Technical Support, say no thank you and hang up immediately. This is a scam.

Another Scam: Here's the report that our office received a few days ago: "An email showed up on Don's computer from USPS.com saying the post office had not been able to deliver a package. There were connections to click and instructions to print a label. It looked suspicious. We called the Oro Valley post office and they had nothing for us. We told them about the email and they said delete immediately and we did. If you or Bob have not alerted our residents about this one, perhaps you should." We are not sure what the goal of this scam is but wanted you to know that it appears there is something going on that is suspicious.

Wrought iron fences: As January 1, 2016 approaches questions have begun to surface about the painting of fences and gates Weather Brown.  To address the questions the Architectural Review Committee has prepared a Frequently Asked Questions document to answer the most popular questions.  This document is available on the Sun City website Click HERE or you can request a copy at the Welcome Center.  We hope you find the document helpful.

Desert Oasis Volleyball/Children's hours: To avoid confusion water volleyball hours will remain the same all year. This will allow for less confusion for children's hours usage. The children's hours will be noon to for 4pm daily except on Sunday, Monday and Thursday. Then the children hours will be noon to 1pm and 3 to 5:30 pm. Water volley is played 1pm to 3pm on Sunday, Monday and Thursday.

News from The Café: You asked...We listened!  We now have new breakfast hours. Breakfast is now served 7 AM - 11:30 AM Monday through Saturday and 7 AM - 3 PM Sundays.

Happy Hour next Friday, May 30 from 4 - 7: New appetizers will be served including flatbread pizza, Chef's selection house-made sausage with matching condiments, poutine (French fries, topped with a light brown gravy-like sauce and cheese curds), pulled pork sliders on pretzel rolls and market vegetable skewer with chimichurri over wild rice

Spa Closure: The spa will be closed on Wednesday, May 28th for filter repairs.

The Board invites you: The Board of Directors wants to invite you to each and every Study Session and Board Meeting. Your thoughts and input are important and one of the best ways to be heard is by attending these monthly meetings. In addition, to this invitation the Board would like you to stop by
15 minutes before the meetings begin so you and the Board Members can have an opportunity for a casual conversation. This pre-meeting period will give you an opportunity to have one-on-one time with Board Members so you can either talk about light social issues or an Association related issue that may be very important to you. The May Board Meeting will be held on May 27th at 9 a.m. in the Welcome Center, Conference Room 3. Please stop by a little early.
