Questions, comments, etc. regarding This Week's SCOV Report: If you have a question, comment or other response that you like to make regarding an item in this report, you may reply to this message. Depending on the nature of your response (comment, question, etc.), I will acknowledge your reply, answer your questions or take other appropriate action(s) in as timely a manner as possible.

Golf Car Safety and other topics: So much of the transportation in SCOV takes place by golf cars. As a result, it is very important to learn how you can stay safe and understand laws regarding golf cars. To get this information and pedestrian safety stop by the event put on by the Government Affairs Committee that will be held on Wednesday, April 23rd in the Navajo/Hohokam Rooms at 1:30 p.m.

Marketing Plan for 2014-15: Would you like to know about the Association, Golf and Café marketing plan for the next fiscal year? If so, please attend the Board/Manager Coffee that will be held on Thursday, April 24th at 10 a.m. in the Activity Center Hopi Room. A member of the Marketing Committee will be there to give a brief overview and answer your questions.

Café Candlelight Dinner: Saturday, April 26th: The Tipster announced that the Candlelight Dinner late in April will be on the 25th which is a Friday and is the typical day of the week for the Candlelight Dinners. However, due to a conflict with a large banquet, the Candlelight Dinner will be held on Saturday, April 26th.

Neighborhood Pride Reminder...E-Mail addresses: With the summer monsoon season approaching, it may be necessary to contact you, should there be a situation occur on your property. If tree limbs are down or tiles on your roof shift from strong winds which sometimes occur during our summer storms, it is best to be able to notify you in the fastest way possible. If you have changed your e-mail address within the past year, please notify Administration so they may update their records.

Facebook: If you have a Facebook account, come join the Sun City Oro Valley Facebook group page here. This is a SCOV residents-only group page. Here you can post pictures, tell other SCOV FB users about SCOV events and planned special activities going on. To join the group, simply go to the Sun City Oro Valley group page and click on the Join Group box. FYI - We so  have Facebook pages for the community as well as The Views and The Café, but the Sun City Oro Valley closed group page is by request only (the administrator of the page will verify that the requestor is a SCOV resident) and content will not be seen by anyone who is not a part of the group. Come join today!

The Board invites you: The Board of Directors wants to invite you to each and every Study Session and Board Meeting. Your thoughts and input are important and one of the best ways to be heard is by attending these monthly meetings. In addition, to this invitation the Board would like you to stop by the meetings 15 minutes before the meetings begin so you and the Board Members can have an opportunity for a casual conversation. This pre-meeting period will give you an opportunity to have one-on-one time with Board Members so you can either talk about light social issues or an Association related issue that may be very important to you. The April Board Meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 22nd at 9 a.m. in the Welcome Center, Conference Room 3. Please stop by a little early.

Fitness Equipment Training: For your own protection, it is extremely important to receive staff training prior to using any of the fitness equipment. We recently had an accident due to the fact that a resident got on to a piece of equipment that they were not trained how to use and an accident occurred resulting in a 911 call.

Café Happy Hour: Come join your friends and neighbors on Friday, April 18 for Happy Hour on Friday, April 18 from 4-7 PM in the Café. The weather is beautiful and perfect for gathering and mingling on the patio. Discounted drinks and special appetizers will be available. See you there!

New Golf School: The Views is offering an intermediate golf school starting May 10, and just a few spaces are left. Don't miss out! Only $120 for six one-hour lessons (a bargain at $20/ea.). Dates are May 10, 11, 17, 18, 24 & 25 from 8:30-9:30 AM. CLICK HERE

Recycle your printer cartridges for a good cause: There is a small basket container outside the computer lab where you can deposit used ink cartridges.  They are then collected and delivered to Coronado K-8 school's Parent Teachers Organization.  The Parent Teacher Organization provides the following with recycling refunds: Supplies for special classroom projects, donation to the school science fair, donation of $500 to the student council for its programs/projects, family fun nights--free movies, activities, BBQ for parents and students, sponsorship of the 8th grade class dance, prizes for the school library to reward avid readers, teacher appreciation and $500 scholarship for a high school graduate who attended Coronado K-8.

Before discarding a used cartridge, please think about the PTO program and deposit it in the basket.  Thank you!

Beware Latest Email Scam:  A recent e-mail scam is targeting postal customers. Online thieves are disguising themselves as the U.S. Postal Service and sending out fake e-mails in order to access personal information. If opened, the e-mail instructs users to click on a link, open an attachment or print a label. Clicking on the link can activate a virus, which can steal personal information such as usernames, passwords and financial account information.

Tips on spotting fake emails:

* Poor grammar or spelling errors;

* Immediate action must be taken or customer could face dire consequences;

* Requests personal information under the guise of re-confirming information; and

* The e-mail from an "automated message system" states "Click on this link for details."

Officials say those who receive suspicious messages that appear to be from the USPS, should delete them.    Click here
