ELECTION RESULTS FOR BOARD DIRECTORS: The Election for the Board of Directors was counted on Tuesday, March 25 resulting in the election of Susan Jakosa and Don Coleman to three-year terms. We extend our congratulations to them. We are thankful for Bert Gustafson and Jack Saatkamp who also ran for the board and participated in this election process. Golf Car Safety and other topics: So much of the transportation in SCOV takes place by golf cars. As a result, it is very important to learn how you can stay safe and understand laws regarding golf cars. To get this information and pedestrian safety stop by the event put on by the Government Affairs Committee that will be held on Wednesday, April 23, Activity Center/Navajo Room, 1:30 PM.

Saturday is the annual Courtyard Sale: If you are participating remember to visit the courtyard area later in the day on Friday and find your table number. This will make it easier on Saturday morning when unloading your car. Also remember on Saturday to park your car behind the Welcome Center to allow for parking for buying customers. If this is your first time participating, people start setting up very early. If you are not participating come on down between 7am and noon to find that certain something you have been looking for.

Sun City Singers: Another great performance by the Sun City Singers is just around the corner. For a only $5 you can enjoy a night full of fun and talent packed routines. Tickets are available at the door in the Activity Center before each performance at 6:15 on Tuesday, April 1 and Friday, April 4. The performance starts at 7 PM.

American Red Cross Blood Drive: Sun City Oro Valley's next drive is Thursday, April 10, 8-11 AM, Auditorium. There is an urgent need for blood because winter storms and freezing temperatures have prevented donors from visiting donor sites to give blood and platelets. More than 41,000 blood donations are needed every day.  You can help; schedule an appointment by calling the Red Cross 1-800-448-3543 or by visiting redcrossblood.org.

New Golf School: The Views is offering an intermediate golf school starting May 10, and sign-ups are available now! Only $120 for six one-hour lessons (a bargain at $20/ea). Dates are May 10, 11, 17, 18, 24 & 25 from 8:30-9:30 AM. Click Here

SCOV Best in the Northwest: Thanks to all your votes SCOV was voted best Active Adult Community in the Explorer Best in the Northwest Contest. In addition to that recognition, The Views Golf Club was voted best golf course and the Café received an honorable mention for best breakfast.

Café Happy Hour: Come join your friends and neighbors at the next Happy Hour on Friday, April 4 from 4-7 PM in the Café. The weather is beautiful and perfect for gathering and mingling on the patio. Discounted drinks and special appetizers will be available. See you there!

 

Café: Please note that the Café will be closed for a short time from 3-3:30 PM on Monday, March 31 for a staff meeting. Service will continue after the meeting until 6 PM.

Golf pass refunds: The Board of Directors approved amendments to the Refund & Proration of Annual Pass Policy (GLF-002). One change is that requests for annual golf pass prorated refunds due to illness, injury or medical condition must be accompanied by a written physician's verification that the pass hold is unable to play golf. Another change outlines the proration payment method for an annual golf pass for pass holders who have received a prorated pass refund due to medical conditions and are then able to play golf again during the same fiscal year. This policy will be effective July 1, 2014.
