Board and Annual Meeting: The preliminary notice that was sent out on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 did not include a notice for the Annual Meeting. A corrected notice for the March Board Meeting and 2014 Annual Meeting can be found at the following link

Dog Rules reminder: Please be reminded that dogs are not allowed on the golf course; when walking dogs, they must be leashed (Association and Oro Valley regulations); always pick up after your dog; and please make an effort to not allow your dog to go on private property whenever possible. Thank you!

The Board invites you: The Board of Directors wants to invite you to each and every Study Session and Board Meeting. Your thoughts and input are important and one of the best ways to be heard is by attending these monthly meetings. In addition, to this invitation the Board would like you to stop by the meetings 15 minutes before the meetings begin so you and the Board Members can have an opportunity for a casual conversation. This pre-meeting period will give you an opportunity to have one-on-one time with Board Members so you can either talk about light social issues or an Association related issue that may be very important to you. The March Board Meeting will be held on March 25th at 9 a.m. in the Welcome Center, Conference Room 3 so please stop by a little early.

Another Scam: It was reported to me that a collection agency or purported collection agency, Capio Partners of Sherman, Texas sent a substantial collection bill to one of our residents for medical services received in San Diego. If you get a collection bill from this firm, please look into the matter thoroughly prior to any payment.

Landscape Volunteers: I was recently asked why residents were given an opportunity to perform volunteer landscape work. This resident's thought was the Association couldn't afford to pay for landscape maintenance which is far from accurate. The fact is that at one of the Board/Manager Coffees a resident noted that several SCOV residents volunteer to do landscape work for Catalina State Park and he thought that they would much rather spend a few hours a week doing light landscape maintenance for the Association. As a result of that comment and request to ask for volunteers, I included a notice in a previous TWISCOV. The intent with that notice was to give residents who want to spend time doing landscape work that they enjoy an opportunity to do just that. There is no need for this volunteer work as, in spite of several special projects that have come along, our Common Area Maintenance Department staff, has done and is doing an excellent job maintaining the many acres of common area landscaping.

Bocce Ball/Pickleball Projects: As you may be aware the Board approved an expenditure to build three new pickleball courts where the bocce ball courts are currently located and four bocce ball courts that will replace the current bocce ball courts. The plan is to build the new bocce ball courts in Catalina Vista. Specifications are being developed at this time. When preliminary specifications have been developed, they will be shared with the respective clubs and other residents who are interested. If feasible, the specifications will be modified from input provided by the clubs and other residents. Once the specifications are firm, bids and permits will be secured. Construction is likely to take place in mid to late summer.

Other projects: This summer there are close to thirty small to medium size projects planned in addition to the pickleball and bocce ball projects. This is noted not only to let you know that staff will have a very busy summer but to also advise you that there will be some noise, dust and possible inconvenience in the facilities form time-to-time. An example of some of these projects is re-tiling some restrooms, installing carpet in the Native American Rooms after electrical floor boxes are installed and re-construction of the north Mountain Vista parking lot.
