Questions, comments, etc. regarding This Week's SCOV Report: If you have a question, comment or other response that you like to make regarding an item in this report, you may reply to this message. Depending on the nature of your response (comment, question, etc.), I will acknowledge your reply, answer your questions or take other appropriate action(s) in as timely a manner as possible.

Rancho Vistoso Median Landscaping: After weeks of various delays, AAA Landscaping has finally scheduled a pre-plant installation meeting on December 11th. Within a few days after that meeting, it is expected that the new plants will be installed.

IRS Warns of Phone Scam: IRS Special Edition Tax Tip 2013-13, November 7, 2013. The IRS is warning the public about a phone scam that targets people across the nation. Callers claiming to be from the IRS tell intended victims they owe taxes and must pay using a pre-paid debit card or wire transfer. The scammers threaten those who refuse to pay with arrest, deportation or loss of a business or driver's license.

The Board invites you: The Board of Directors wants to invite you to each and every Study Session and Board Meeting. Your thoughts and input are important and one of the best ways to be heard is by attending these monthly meetings. In addition, to this invitation the Board would like you to stop by the meetings 15 minutes before the meetings begin so you and the Board Members can have an opportunity for a casual conversation. This pre-meeting period will give you an opportunity to have one-on-one time with Board Members so you can either talk about light social issues or an Association related issue that may be very important to you. The December Board Meeting will be held on the 12th in the Welcome Center Conference Room 3 at 9 a.m. so please stop by a little early.

Davidson Elementary: Last week I included a note in the SCOV report about the fundraising for Davidson Elementary school children. Since that notice, I was informed that the Embroidery group has embroidered 4 dozen towels for Dads to donate to Davidson project. I thought this would be a nice bit of positive information that our resident's would like to know.

Fitness Center Project: Things are moving quickly with the project. Work on the interior during the past week included tile installation in the locker rooms, drywall installation/taping, painting, HVAC work, and more. Sidewalks have been installed on the exterior and some grading has been completed. In addition, the aluminum store front frames have been installed and several of the windows have also been installed. The spa should also realize some more progress beginning today in that tile installation will begin.

Maintenance Truck for Sale:

One of the maintenanctruck for salee trucks has been replaced with a new, larger truck. This 2003 Nissan Frontier King Cab has 78,000 miles, A/C, auto, 4 cylinder, power steering and is in good condition. Kelly blue book for a good condition truck as described is $7,062. Asking price is $6,950. If you are interested in the truck, contact Ken Sandrock at 917-8078 or Bob Mariani at 917-8080.

Electric Power Shutdown: The fitness center project will require that the power is shutdown in the AFC and Artisan Complex/Gift Shop area. TEP has informed us that this shutdown is scheduled for:

Monday, December 9th for 4 hours in the morning.

Monday, December 16th all day and night.

Tuesday, December 17th for 4 hours in the morning.

During these times/days, the AFC pool will be closed and the Artisan Complex including the Gift Shop will be closed.

The Posse needs your help: The following notice has been in this report for the past few weeks and no one has come forward to volunteer for leadership in the Posse, which is unfortunate. Please consider offering your services to best assure that the Posse will continue to be a viable entity that truly helps keep SCOV a safe play to live.

The Posse is always looking for volunteers to join our squads and participate in our Neighborhood Patrols.  Now, we are also looking to fill three positions on the Posse Board by or before the end of the year.  They are the Posse Committee Chairperson, a Squad Leader and the Committee Secretary.  The new Posse Committee Chairperson will replace the retiring Posse Chair, Del Balston.  The open Squad Leader position is created by the retirement of Squad E Co-Leader, Dee Bethke.  The opening in the Secretary position is created by the former Secretary, Pat Monson, giving up that position to focus more time on her Squad A Co-Leader tasks.  Any SCOV resident who is interested in any of these important positions should contact John Njaa at 825-5486 or 619-517-0006.

AFC Pool Information Line:During the construction of the fitness center, it will be necessary to close the pool from time-to-time. To assist you with knowing when these closures will take place, an information line has been put into place. If you'll call 917-8088 before you go to the pool, you'll receive a message letting you know if the pool is open or closed.
