Welcome Spring!
Betsy Paynter, Newtown Economic Development
April showers tried to take over May this spring. The sun is out and temperatures are on the rise like many of the newly developed buildings in Newtown. With the mild weather this winter, many development projects were able to continue their pace. The Village at Lexington Gardens are shaping the landscape of the Borough along Church Hill Road. We look forward to Dental Associates' expansion within the village along with new restaurants, offices and retail to come.

The EDC hosted Newtown's Annual Manufacturers & Business Breakfast last month at Rock Ridge Country Club with a large turnout of business owners and staff. National Small Business Week was celebrated with a business resource panel at the CH Booth Library for local entrepreneurs. The EDC and the library continue to bring the business community support with speakers and webinars on a wide range of topics to help with local business growth. The Newtown Chamber is stronger than ever with the edition of Helen Brickfield, their new business development director. I encourage all area businesses to learn more about the Newtown Chamber happenings and get connected. www.newtown-ct.com.  The EDC is happy to announce the Farmer's Market at Fairfield Hills will begin their new season on Tuesday, June 28th. The two organizations worked together with the Planning and Zoning Commission over the winter to allow prepared foods and food trucks.
