Autumn Arrives!
Betsy Paynter, Newtown Economic Development
Newtown's signature Labor Day Parade kicked off the season. Another huge success of community, businesses and organizations coming together - this is Newtown. Newtown continues to glow in the autumn sun. The trees are beginning to change color and the crisp air hovers over the lakes and streams. Newtown's recent developments, in all phases, provide light within the community as well. An incentive housing development was approved in Sandy Hook Center, The Riverwalk at Sandy Hook Village. Rand Whitney, an advanced manufacturer of corrugate containers, received approval to expand their facility. Multiple buildings within the Villages at Lexington Garden development are taking shape and tenants are securing space. Another new development is The Summit, a mixed use 20,000 sq ft building, is securing tenants and residents at 146 South Main Street. There are plans for a medical building ground breaking along Newtown's "Medical Mile" at 170 Mt. Pleasant Road later this month too. Things are busy in Newtown.

New businesses have opened and expanded within Newtown and Sandy Hook. "Quality of Life" makes Newtown an attractive place for entrepreneurs and "at home" businesses to thrive and grow. You can learn more about Newtownthe land of opportunitylater in the newsletter.
