Welcome Summer!

Betsy Paynter

Newtown has a multitude of natural resources to enjoy year round; the summer brings out some of our best features. Waterways and woodlands are sprinkled throughout the 60 square miles of Newtown's landscape, providing a wide variety of entertainment and enjoyment for the residents and visitors. Take time to enjoy the parks, lakes, rivers and hiking trails throughout Newtown's open space, state land and Fairfield Hills Campus. Enjoy the property and trails along with wine and cheese at Newtown's McLaughlin Vineyards or stop by the farmstand store at Shortt's Farm & Garden, both in Sandy Hook. Discover Newtown.

Many of Newtown's restaurants and delis have delicious offerings for a local picnic. Stop by Newtown's General Store, Misty Vale Deli, Newtown Deli, Butcher's Best, Cafe Xpresso, The Burrito Shack, Carminuccio's Pizza, SOHO Pizza, The Villa, Franco's, Sandy Hook Deli, Papa Al's, just to name a few, for your take-out options. Explore Newtown's natural beauty this summer; we have so much to offer.
