Happy Spring!

Betsy Paynter

The winter brought us snow and cold winds, now we welcome the thaw as construction vehicles move around multiple sites in Newtown. The spring construction season is here and Newtown development is kicking into full gear.

Recently, we celebrated grand opening ribbon cuttings for new businesses and expansions. Divine Dogs expanded into their new space and is open at 78 South Main Street. Newtown welcomes Cafe Xpresso at 150 South Main Street, offering delicious coffee, baked goods and sandwiches. The Burrito Shack is now open at 314 South Main, a wonderful addition to Newtown's eateries. Also, Filet, a steak and seafood restaurant, is now located at 43 South Main Street. We anticipate additional restaurant openings in Newtown over the coming year. Stay tuned, Newtown is becoming a "restaurant destination".

Newtown's "Medical Mile" is located in the Hawleyville Business District, off exit 9 of I-84. It's a growing destination, as we prepare to welcome multiple medical services and professionals to the area. Construction of a 26,000 sf medical building is now complete, with an additional 30,000 sf medical building to begin construction this spring. Newtown is looking to grow the medical business cluster in this area. Let me know if you're interested in learning more about the medical opportunities along Newtown's "Medical Mile".
