September 2014  |  Issue 16
Greetings!

Betsy Paynter

What another fantastic Labor Day Parade! Coming together is one of the things that make Newtown a great community.

The summer is ending and the fall is upon us: seasons are changing. Autumn brings the harvest, back to school, and back to work. And Newtown Economic Development is on the job! Last month we wished Liz Stocker farewell when she left to pursue a new professional opportunity. Newtown is "Open for Business" with its new "super team" of Economic Development: George Benson as the Director of Planning, Christal Preszler as the Grant Coordinator and me, Betsy Paynter, as the Economic Development Coordinator.

I will continue to work on town, property, and development marketing initiatives for the EDC. I'm also focused on assisting Newtown's existing and new businesses with their growth and expansion. You can still contact me with questions and assistance at BetsyPaynter@Newtown-CT.gov or 203-270-4281. We are here to help your business grow and prosper in Newtown. Give me a call today!

The EDC is working hard to promote our valued Newtown businesses. Learn about our "Featured Newtown Business" a part of The Newtown Way: But Local First campaign later in the newsletter.

Newtown and Sandy Hook are filled with great economic history. Curtis Packaging Corporation is one of Sandy Hook's oldest manufacturing businesses. Learn more on their company website.
