    • 9:30-9:50am - Pre-K, Kindergarten and 1st
    • 10:00-10:20am - 3rd and 5th

Race Day: Your child should dress in their Family Colors for Jog-A-Thon. We encourage them to be creative and have fun (just like Field Day!). If it looks like rain, be sure to send your runner to school with proper gear--we will run outside if it is drizzling.

Morning Drop-off will be in the Upper Lot ONLY.

We need volunteers! This day is a fun success due to our many day-of volunteers. Come out and lend a hand! You should have gotten a link for a Sign-up Genius, or follow this link

All pledges are due by Midnight, May 18th.  Click Here to pledge online.

Remember: If you meet your Flexible Fundraising obligation by Midnight, Monday, May 18th, your child(ren) will earn a Free Dress day on June 4th. What better way to finish out your fundraising then with a pledge to Jogathon, where 80% of your donation counts towards your obligation? Many companies such as Microsoft match employee donations because they are tax deductible. Check it out!  -Jogathon Committee

Service Job Sign-Ups Online TODAY

Service Job signups are live online this morning beginning at 7am - SIGN UP HERE.

Service jobs are an integral part of the Sacred Heart Community. By volunteering you enrich the academic and student environment for our students.  We count on these jobs for the success of our school.  Through our Service Program, parents work side-by-side, develop friendships, and strengthen our community.  Families not signed up with a service job by August 31st will be invoiced $1,000.

Any questions please e-mail Christine Kerr.

Two Terrific Community Events!

  • Thank you to everyone who participated in our Grandparents' and Grandfriends' Day last Friday. We had our largest attendance ever! I want to especially thank Kameo Simpson and Deanna Sanford and our Development Team (Theresa Daigle and Carrie Morrissey) who put on the event and Mr. Tim Murphy who was our keynote speaker.
  • I also want to thank everyone who participated in Bingo Night later that same day. It was our largest Bingo Night with 216 people in attendance! I am especially grateful to our Bingo Night chair, Tami Hansen, and our Parents Club executive team (Roxane Barkley, Christine Kerr, and Danielle Limp) who were all essential in making it a fun evening for everyone.

Teacher and Staff Awards

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Teacher and Staff of the Year Awards process. We received over 120 nominations and every eligible teacher and staff member received one or more nominations. Congratulations to our 2015 Teacher of the Year, Mr. Tim Murphy, and our 2015 Staff Member of the Year, Kari Boyd!

New P.E. Teacher

I am happy to announce that we have hired a new p.e. teacher for next year, Mr. Randall Kimbrough. He holds a bachelor's degree and teaching certification in physical education and has experience teaching both high school and elementary physical education and health.

There will be no Peer to Peer TODAY. However, Ms. Ward will have her tutorial session from 3:20-4pm in her room.

Afternoon Pre-Kindergarten Program

We are happy to announce the opening of an afternoon pre-kindergarten program beginning this fall. The class will run five days per week from 12:10-3:10pm and follow the same curriculum as the morning program. Due to state regulations and academic concerns, students may not sign up for both the morning and afternoon sessions. For more information, e-mail Susana Knapp.

2015-2016 Student Council

We will be holding an informational meeting next Wednesday, May 20th during the second lunch (12:20-1:00) for current 5th - 7th students interested in running for Student Council next year.  If your child is interested in any of these positions, they will have an opportunity to talk with the current Student Council, ask any questions they have and pick up the necessary campaign/election materials.  Campaigning begins on June 3rd and the election assembly is scheduled for Friday, June 5th at 8:45am.

Current 5th graders may run for the Spirit, Faith, Sports or Green Team (new in 2015-16) Commissioner positions.  Current 6th and 7th graders may run for any of those positions, in addition to Activities Commissioner, Treasurer, Secretary or Vice President.  Current 7th graders are the only students who may run for the office of President.

Summer Reading

The Summer Reading information will be included in next Thursday's FTH, as well as included on our website.

Summer Math Review

Each summer we require our students to practice and maintain the skills that they have learned this year in Math.  This summer the options will be the same as last year.

Please decide which option you are choosing:

For K-5 Students:

  • Option A:  Summer Math Skills Sharpener - Hard Copy Math Review booklet we have used in the past.  Order online  $17.00 plus shipping costs directly to your home.  Order the grade level that your child is currently completing.  Do not order the next year ahead.
  • Option B:  Math Whizz and Xtra MathStudents continue to access their accounts at home during the summer. Need to log on at least 45 minutes a week for Math Whizz and 3 times a week for Xtra Math to see growth.  Progress is monitored and growth is tracked.  Teachers are able to use this data to prepare for September. No Cost
  • Option C:  Weekly Tutoring if preferred or already in place or another program to be approved by Mrs. Lawler

For MS Students:

  • Option A: Summer Math Skills Sharpener - Hard Copy Math Review booklet we have used in the past. Order online  $17.00 plus shipping costs directly to your home.  Order the grade level that your child is currently completing.  Do not order the next year ahead, i.e., 6th grade going into 7th grade will order the 6th grade book and ALL 7th GRADERS WILL NEED TO ORDER THE PRE-ALGEBRA BOOK
  • Option B:  Weekly Tutoring if preferred or already in place or another program to be approved by Ms. Ward, Mrs. Schriber or Mrs. Lawler

From Parents' Club

Thank You!

Family Bingo Night was a HUGE Success and we want to thank all of you for attending last Friday night and bringing your enthusiasm and Bingo playing skills to the night. It was great to have so many school families, grandparents and parishioners in attendance.  Special thanks to the charismatic Bingo Callers, Mr. Murphy, Mr. Burroughs and Father Steve Sallis who in turn each put their own personal spin on each game and made every Bingo number read so exciting. Also special thanks to all the middle school student volunteers who so generously gave of their time and talents to helping at the event and in the art room with the Mothers' Day crafts  and generally keeping the energy up in the Bingo hall. Tami Hansen (Bingo Night Event Chair) would like to thank everyone who worked so fast and tirelessly to make this event a success and hopefully it will become an annual event at Sacred Heart.
